Dear Clan. Thank you for your good wishes. I am very lucky to be alive and realise it was not my time yet. It is great to have friends and family that care and tomorrow the Sharks Rugby teams doctor will start to work on my leg to build it up slowly. I am in good hands - the broken shoulder will take some time an d the rest of minor injuries are already getting better. I am a tough coekie. Drive safely has become a phrase with new meaning, so please all - drive safely. Even if it is not your fault, other people dont look what they do on the roads. And can you believe that a bystander stole my watch off my arm! Take care and drive safe. Regards Ricky

Hello ... thank you again for the messages. I feel a whole lot better although I had a bit of bad news. My left leg's tendons and musscle has been torn off the bone - after having an ultrasound to see where the pain is coming from. It is such a mess that it cannot be operated on to fix as there is nothing to attach it to. I am going to have some rehab, starting in about a week on my left leg and with lots of water therapy and laser, time etc. it should get back to normal. At least I can still walk and the collar bone will grow back in no time. (I now know what the jokeys go through with broken collar bones...) This accident has caused me to re-think my life in so many aspects and having escaped from this horrible accident alive just reminded me how grateful we should be for what we have. The twins have been great, bringing me dry leaves and flowers from the garden with lots of kisses and little hugs and my husband turned out to be a great nurse!!! But with all the love and friends, it still is not easy and I am not the tough coekie I thought I was. I remember every detail, except how I was thrown out the windscreen. I just remember rolling down this bank and landing on the road about 10 meters from the car. Going through this whole experience was so frightning because I was waiting for that fatal impact that was going to kill me and the next thing I was out on the road. I have nightmares and anxiethy attacks and I am so scared to get in a car right now. But as you say Grecko, time heals. Take care and be careful on the roads!
