2yo Frosted Gold in Grade 1 Mercury Sprint

I stand to be corrected but in the last 28 years of racing that I have been following I never seen a 2 year old running in a Grade 1 race in South Africa against older horses. Frosted Gold is the first in the last three decades that I know of.

By the way, there was a filly called, Kings Pact, that won the Clairwood Winter Handicap as a two year old. She had an impeccable two year old record. This race is now known as the Champions Cup which will be on Saturday.

Yes Bob, Kings Pact far before my time like profile picture, Ribot. Ribot won two Arcs in a row and I'm in awe of him.

My late Dad always mentioned, Kings Pact, everyone's favourite, Sea Cottage, Jamaican Music but he had a soft spot for that veteran iron horse William Penn.
