It would be very difficult as the July has a special vibe.
We were talking about the July ante post months before the event , all the speculation re; MDK runners .
I am not sure who is running in the CUP? Any cape horses, KZN ?
Any thoughts.....
The launch is on Wednesday and we will try and gather some momentum.
Still 14 weeks so I guess no panic .

The Summer Cup pools will never reach the July or SunMet pools but it is still has a very nice vibe on course, especially with the hols just around the corner.
Would love to see more Cape horses at the Cup this year, makes it even more interesting

I'm bloody sure there was a P6 carryover to the JULY day meeting... for the SUMMER CUP day, to get anywhere near July P6, we will need a similar P6 carryover / injection !

]JULY P6 had a 5 bar headstart....hopefully the cup gets a headstart as well and the launch gets everyone going
Will P have enough to give a headstart on the P6????

To be very clear. It is not their money they give this head start with, but rather the money not won from previous pools. They still take their ever increasing percentage takeouts as usual. I don't see why they wouldn't set aside a large carryover once more - The longer they hold the money the better for them anyway.

Surely the don’t take another 25% off the carryover amount?

They don't double tax. No. But they do benefit from the larger raceday pool that would be encouraged with the larger carryover, than if there was no carryover.

Went to Joburg for the launch and was a superb afternoon/ early evening.
Very well attended with good entertainment and build up to the Cup.
A full press release will follow and i have many pics on the camera.
There was a few prize giveaway competitions and "scotia" won a well timed smart phone .
More to follow but look forward to the BIG day.
