People are playing lucky numbers.

Strictly speaking, all the merit rated races on the card would have been below the MR 80 class before the increase. I think it will be a lot more difficult to find winners on the day, this is a really poor card. An across the board increase in the ratings doesn't make the battlers any better as race horses. Guess it is a betting card, just need to find the right ones though.

Was just typing my essay, when hitting the wrong key made it all disappear - not sure of that's a sign or not :dry:

Anyway, shortened version:

R2: Talllin seems hard to beat going on the betting support; Inside Politics the value at the odds

R3: 3 horse race - Segontium from DIckens and Port Key

R4: My Elusive to make See Me Run pull out the stops

R5: Competitive, Zabarjad probably better than his last effort, and looks the right one from stable mate Seventh of June who runs well at this track; pace will be on imo and positioning and timing will be the deciding factor

R6: GImmethenight for me, Astrix the biggest danger if he gets the trip

R7: Promise has really been hammered by the handicapper, so this is a tough handicap; runners like Zulu Dawn and Soul of Wit seem well weighted, but have wide draws - still would make the trifecta and quartet pay

R8: Full of Attitude disappointing last run, but gets cheek pieces fitted today and should hold Culture Trip on their last meeting; Lumber Jackaroo the dark horse

R9: Very weak F&M handicap; I think Brave Zndaya has a much bigger chance than the odds suggest

I like Frodo's My Elusive suggestion. I also like in that race the Randal Simons runner, which I felt started to show a bit more in penultimate and at 20/1 could be a nice bet. If it has come on since that date, with a good draw and solid jock, might just surprise. Due to my rules of engagement I cannot select Yeni's being from a plate race and no prior form to speak of (back on Turf though) Neither are particularly strong selections though and I might just skip the day.
