We now have a confirmed case of races staying open after the result has been posted, nevermind while still in running.
Suddenly the number of races where dividends were seriously changed after the off make sense
Suddenly the regular changing of tote favourites after the off makes sense
Suddenly all that crap a few years ago involving Mysterious Australian punting syndicates are exposed for the hogwash that they were
Suddenly the absurdly low tote payouts on longer priced winning horses makes sense
Suddenly you are rightfully entitled to question every tote result because there are no checks and balances.
Because the system does not have credibility any more. End of.
A few years back there was a lunatic called AndreWest on this forum. He was clearly some type of IT fundi and way back then he was calling for some type of audit and saying that there was a way to determine the time that the bets were struck. I cant remember what his ideas were I am no computer geek. Based on all the fuss, Phumelela released a statement saying it was impossible to bet into a race after the off time and had some type of certificate to back their claims up. Bob may be able to assist in finding that thread.
This is massive and I am sending a copy of this thread to the Gambling Board. Heads need to roll.
.....it was not one but more than a handful of races 4 from Toowoomba and 3 from Belmont ....and if I did not post here none would be the wiser....I have been attacking the Tote operator at every turn for the continuous errors mysterious payouts and absolute shoddy service and although I did receive payouts from some of the bets I struck I would gladly return it....the fact is that something went very wrong with the system and was not corrected in time and blows all the IT jargon that we have been fed right out the water..... heads have to roll....:S

In 2012.when i was betting big(in my mind anyway),on a local online site,I came across a tennis bet that
omitted to take midweek(ladies tennis to make the final) I logon on the day of the match to check the odds to see how much money I would have made had I submitted the bet.I emailed the "contact us"" email and advised them that the bet was still "live"",After no reaction ,I further advised that I would now to get their attention place a bet of R 5000,00 on my lady to make the final(this was approximately) 15 minutes into the final. No response until my bet was accepted and my stake not refunded as I was accused of "skulduggery" and placing a bet after the market was closed.
After a hell of a lot of hassle on my side to prove that I had warned them that the market was live ,my stake was eventually refunded.
P.S. I have subsequently advised the same online bookmaker of further live markets
particularity in the Super Rugby season when the Jaguares play at home when occasionally a game is move fro 21h40 to 19h40 local SA time.
Did I ever receive a thank you email, not on your Nelly just a immediate closure of the active bet.

Just to add a little bit of spice to the pot
I contacted Tab gold approximately 2 hours after Towoomba R4 to ask why my ticket is not yet clear and the dividends for the quartet where not yet official... I was informed that there was a break down in the link and that all bets were null and void and a full refund was declared for your bets. After eventually locating my "losing" tickets that i had thrown away, i went to the operator and attempted to collect my refund. The tickets were still undecided... This after being specifically informed that the bet options were null and void and i could get my refund.... Eventually later on in the afternoon, i tried to collect my refund again and was suprised that all of a sudden there was a payout bigger than my stake... I looked online and saw that there were results posted....
How can the operator inform clients that a result is null and void and go back on their decision hours later?
Yes, it suited me as i got more back than my refund, but like mentioned on here already, how can i be confident that there was no skullduggery going on? It has become an absolute joke....

......yet they spent many hours making each race clear one after another.....in the 4 hours after the glitch I started seeing my balance climb as each individual race was cleared......I only then posted here after receiving a final payment with was actually a legit bet in the last race in Balmont.....it was the previous 3 that were affected.....Toowomba was affected from Race 1 through to race 4 or 5 and this venue was tackled 1st with payouts one by one.....what totally flummoxes me is why they tried to unscramble this mess instead of declaring nil and void......maybe some fool/s thought it may not be noticed if it was eventually fixed......now we know about the fixing that must have been going on for years.....just that Joe punter was not able to get in on it......
