ive realised this turf track is much more tricky than the other one and this card is open few roughies that i think need to be included in all exotics where in the last i thing segontium look the best on the card
r1 - 1 4 7 i fancy Lithuanians dream i dont have 3 in my play here would be my 4th selection but has not been around the bend
r2 - 5 and 7 fancy 5 quite strong but i made long pond 1 of my roughies where long pond beat the 5 horse quite easily then ran 2 bad races and now back at this track ...LONG POND ew swingers 5 and 7
r3 - very open and long distance races arnt easy at this course munger likes to win these one and has a shout but no selection here for me
r4 - open fancy FACT based on African gold formline munger could upset...FACT place
r5 - DE COCK has a smart horse Tallin and i do fancy it difficult to look else where as the rest arnt that strong one would feel DE COCK would put this one in a field where it has appeal
r6 - 5 and 9 both Peters horses could not split play would be place on 9 swingers with 5
r7 - 1 and 6 fancy a bit of the 6 and you can right your own ticket on this horse light weight likes this track and has ran well at this track play EW 6 would probably need to add a few in the p6 and jacky but do not leave out 6 in your play at any price
r8 - 1 segontium best bet on the card imo and ill banker this one and take a few doubles on to this one with a few of my others in play
goodluck try save some bucks for Saturday got some info on a nice priced horse at turfontein Saturday to have a full go

Re: Turffontein Thursday

Race 1
Tobie Spies
No 8 Class Protector - I don't expect much from her but just hoping to
see some improvement
Chris Jonker
No 2 Ice Eater - He is working well and I expect him to be thereabouts
at the finish
Race 2
Ashley Fortune
No 6 Full Force - Has her first run out of maiden company and we will
see how she goes against the stronger opposition
Heather Adamson
No 3 Seneca Falls - Does well at this track and should again be in the money
No 5 Countess Trenton - Ran on nicely last time and with Muzi on
board, she should give a very good account of herself
Race 3
Race 4
Robbie Sage
No 5 Flame Fella - Will prefer this trip and I'm hoping he can run in the money
Weiho Marwing
No 3 Fact - Has been consistent over the longer distances and should
give a good account of himself.
Scott Kenny
No 1 Snorting Bull - He's holding his form well over the staying trips
but does have his first run on the Turffontein inside track which is a
bit unknown how he will take to this course
Race 5
Robbie Sage
No 8 No More Words - Won a nice race when ridden with patience last
time out and if similar tactics are used, she could again be in the
money
Tyrone Zackey
No 7 Walnut Dash - Has a better draw than she did in her last race and
she is in with an each-way chance
Geoff Woodruff
No 5 Starlighttemptress - She does have the worst of the draw to
negotiate but enjoys the track and trip and we're hoping that she can
get luck in running
Shaylen Naidoo
No 2 Bid Before Sunset - Finished on top of them last time and she
should be competitive once again
Race 6
Tobie Spies
No 3 Windy Flight - Tries a bit further and could run into one of the
minor placings
Tyrone Zackey
No 10 Gonnafly - Showed some improvement last time out and could
possibly make it into the quartet
Race 7
Ashley Fortune
No 7 Midnight Lights - Her last run should be ignored. She is working
well and I'm expecting her to finish in the money
Shaylen Naidoo
No 2 Notquitethereyet - Has a better draw than she did last time out
and I'm hoping she can run an improved race
Race 8
Ashley Fortune
No 3 The Riddler - He's improving steadily and I expect another honest run
Dianne Stenger
No 5 Crazy Charlie - Is better than his last effort and I expect a
decent run from him.
Tobie Spies
No 7 Canquari - Showed improvement last time and could run into the money
Chris Jonker
No 10 Racing Man - He has a wide draw to overcome but he ran a decent
race last time and should be right there
No 6 Silver Hub - Also has a poor draw but could sneak into the quartet

Re: Turffontein Thursday

Challenging card comprising 8 Handicaps (of which 2 are Maiden Handicaps), made slightly easier by a host of scratchings; let's give it a go ....
R1: I fancy Pearl of Siberia - a win and a 2nd out of 3 tries this track and trip - very well in with the 4kg claimer and at 5/1 worth a bet imo; Lithuanian's Dream the main danger for the in-form trainer and jock combo - also a winner at this track; Hot August and Snow in Seattle (both more effective over slightly further) should be running on to dispute 3rd
R2: Tricky - I like a long shot in the form of Diva Faustina - rested after going off form - but goes well this track and trip, has pole position and an in-form jock; has really come down in the ratings and one can't get hurt at the price; 2nd choice for me is Long Pond - I have been preaching this one for a while, but on the run in June over this track and trip is well weighted with the favorite Picadilly Square, who is going into my BP as well; open though as most of the others look capable of running into the first 4
R3: Tricky again - again I like a bit of a roughie in the form of Merengue - a winner this track and trip over Miss Tycoon at level weights (Il Monde received 3 kgs from MT when beating her last time and has to give M 1.5 kgs today) Khumalo (has been in hot form on Tuesday) replaces Steyn and I think good each-way value at 16s; obviously the 2 form runners to include are Perfect Light and Therecanonlybeone; chances though to all of the others bar maybe Laat Lammetjie
R4: Only 7 runners, but very competitive; neither Snorting Bull nor Fact has run at the track; Before Noon has had 2 unsuccessful tries here; Master and Man seems better over shorter
both Flame Fella and Earth Sky are winners this track and trip, while Hit for Six has beaten Flame Fella in the Maidens at level weights and now gets 2 kgs from him - I'm loading up
R5: Tallinn is being backed as if the result is in the frame, and she does look the only possible banker on the card; however one does get the feeling that the obvious one is going to get rolled on a day like today, when many would be banking her; the problem is that there is no obvious danger; (not so) short list to consider imo include (in numerical order) Colour of Light, Bid Before Sunset, Starlighttemptress, It Takes Two, Walnut Dash, No More Words and Kapama
R6: Only 7 runners left, but another tricky contest; Prince Jordan possibly needed his last run a bit, and his trainer has labeled him an 'each-way chance'; Western Oasis comes in to draw 6, courtesy of the scratchings, but has taken 11 tries to win a race, so probably limited; Baahir has not won for 511 days, and has tried this type of trip before without success, but is still dropping steadily in the ratings, so his turn will come one these days; Melchizedek has found form - these 4 ?
R7: Another tough race to call imo, but Kisumu has been labeled by her trainer as a big runner and has the benefit of pole position, while the obvious danger Midnight Lights (labeled a 'money chance' by the trainer) jumps from 7; Floribunda has been labeled as probably 'better over 1600 up' - but has found steady betting support, so who knows ? Stellarmein tries blinkers and with the 4kg allowance could upset imo
R8: Were this a normal Maiden, Segontium would have been 1/5, but in this handicap he has to give weight (up to 12 kgs) away; despite a tricky draw, he probably still rates the one to beat, but I have a sneaky feeling about Heathrow; ran 8.5 lengths behind Set the Standard (giving away 3 kgs) in a normal Maiden and there is some collateral form with Earth Shaker and Matloob, which puts him well in with Segontium at the weights; wide draw of course is a problem, but at the odds I'd rather take a Place on Heathrow, than a Win on Segontium
Enjoy

DIVA FAUSTINA
Gau:Tfntn
Wet:4:0-0-0
Crs: 10:1-1-2
Dst: 8:1-2-1
C&D:5:1-1-1
Won maiden over C/D
Poor next 3runs then a short head second in a FM 66 HANDICAP (F & M) 5more poor runs after that
But she has been running from wide draws
THE SECOND PLACE FINISH THOUGH IN A FM 66 HANDICAP (F & M) WAS THE ONLY TIME WARREN KENNEDY SADDLED HER FROM DRAW 12-13
FINISHING 0.40LENGTHS OF THE WINNER,I THINK SHE JUST FADED OUT LAST 50M'S BECAUSE THE COMMENTS SAY SET PACE FOUGHT HARD
DRAWN POLE POSITION TODAY AND CARRYING THE SAME WEIGHT TERMS,IF WARREN USES THE SAME TACTICS HE DID,THE LAST TIME HE RODE HER,SHOULD HAVE AN E/W CHANCE
