On a day when the earlier races won't get much of my attention - slight matter of a rugby game in Japan - but still seems a card where money can be made (but that's what I thought last week :( )

R1: The way Bold Ransom runs will probably have an effect on the starting price of Succession in the last - for what it's worth I think Orchid Street could give BR a go

R2: None of the 5 without a chance; my BP numbers are 1,2,4

R3: Hard to against the money here

R4: Queen Supreme in the Little Black Book of many and I also marked her as one to follow, however this is a tough handicap on what could the wrong track for her; both 3 yr olds catch my eye, especially Way of the World who looks better than rated and value at the price imo

R5: Virginia has struck form again, but imo is now back at a realistic rating; Abelie the biggest danger imo, but this is quite competitive; Witch of the West tries 1600 and is an upset possibility

R6: Pinnacle Stakes complicated by the fact that many of the runners weighted to win here are running over a trip short of their best and are using this as their comeback runs for races coming up; Puget Sounds has his 3rd run after a rest and only has the draw against him - so obvious chance; although Roll of Drums and Diamond Dancer are out at the weights, they also have the advantage of being racing fit, so those 3 stand out for me

R7: Before the Dawn in form and deserved favorite, but Cattitude from pole position is a big danger imo; Seemyvision tries blinkers and may improve, while stable mate Ilha da Var also tries blinkers and could be a threat from a nice draw at these weights

R8: Black Ferrari fair maiden win and has the advantage of a good draw; Passion Peach will get it right one of these days and is very well in at the weights compared to Lady Lucinda on their last meeting, for me I think Mount Laurel needs more ground although scraping in last time beating a wall of horses to the line

R9: Succession good maiden win, but now goes around the turn against multiple winners - so not cut and dried imo; biggest danger for me is Fitzwilliam who looks well weighted, while Greasepaint and stable mate Neng Kapa Neng have the advantage of good draws; Mount Keith another not to be ignored

Enjoy - the rugby now gets my attention - Go Bokke B)

SPRING POETRY (WIN)

6runs back over the VAC 2000m FM 80 HANDICAP (F & M)

Spring poetry finished in 4th place and pilgrims progress finished in 3rd place

Spring poetry carried 60.5kgs and Pilgrims progress 59kgs But had K matsunyane on board and only ended up carrying 56.5kgs because of the claim

The difference in lengths between Pilgrims progress(3rd) and spring poetry(4th) was 0.25lengths (half a neck)

Spring poetry carries the same weight terms today, but pilgrims progress is up 6.5kgs from that run

6/1 spring poetry, small field will get the job done

Dam won most races over the sprint distance, so probably is speedy and drawn well today, hopefully doesn't fade out at the 1200m mark

Well Sunshine Silk - I had one look at that one and told myself 'too short' - and then to top it off the stable mate runs into 2nd and the biggest outsider in the field into 3rd - taking an early shower today :(
