R5, Macthief, despite the wide draw. The manner in which he won his last two starts over 1200m, the extra furlong shouldn't be a problem. A decent pace looks guaranteed by those at the bottom of the weights, which helps the poor draw, and he should be picking them off late in the piece. The collateral form of his last race has worked out well, the second, third and fourth placed horses have all come out and won their next starts.

R6, Belgarion, can go in again. Beat the higher rated Silver Operator (MR 102) when rated 97 and conceding 6.0kgs. He is well in at the weights and should take some stopping.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

The main race The Settlers looks to be made for Chrome Yellow
He has got to be one of the best handicapped horses and 2000 m should be
perfect
This race historically was a 2400m race and was changed this time
Why? anybody know the reason?

after many hours of studying i made this card extremely difficult and had a look at macthief much like toltec today yes macthief is above than what the merit rating suggests but macthief won a 77 by 2.6 lnth at level weight terms there are horses in that field that carry peanuts an have run in 80s and 90s can it win yes most certainly but will i banker it and take 15 -10 no i wont

same thing applies to belgarion

this is a tough card and finding a banker is quite tough as apposed to the big T

if i was forced to banker a horse id probably banker Fergies Rock which is 9-1 yes this horse does look held by the 2 and even the 8 but both horses carried 57 and fergies rock carried 60 today they meet on same weight terms.... on the last run and stepping up in distance you would probably think why would 1 beat 2 or 8 well i just think this horse has the form 2.8l of macthief giving macthief 3kg 1200m handy stayed on 1st run with blinkers and improved today 2nd run with blinkers and im hopeing that Fergies Rock will bring home the 9-1 banker again its no cert hence 9-1 my point exactly probably not a card to get involved in

i also think that but you could make a case for a few platinum prince lost 2l on last run gets the blinkers removed ..american landing for me is the best weighted horse based on the penultimate run to chrome yellow where the horse was sat just off the pace last run used front running tactics and did not work at all..dhama 2kg better off with the 8 but might be held over further but not without hope but in my eyes is the horse they have to beat you are quite right

I agree. This horse cost a fortune and is highly rated by DK.

On exposed form it's hard to agree with you, but this is a gathering of bad horses where any result is possible. I will row in with Yucatan.
