Ginger passed away at 80 years .

RIP

Many may have not heard of Ginger but was one of my early heros.

He was a member of supergroup CREAM with Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce.

I was lucky enough to watch them live at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh and a bit of a head banging evening.
He was probably one of the best drummers ever and even when he was in his early 20s he looked double his age.
The combination of possibly the best 3 artists of their time brought together Clapton (guitar) Bruce (base and vocals ) and Baker (drummer) the CREAM was a great name.
They sold millions of LPs in theses days and certainly one of my fav bands

RIP

He might have re-located to KZN from the Cape.

Watched a good docie on him filmed whilst he was living in the Cape, he beat up the interviewer. Rumour has it he used to beat up Jack Bruce, and that's the reason Cream broke up.

Good drummer nonetheless.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

He lost his polo farm in the Cape after being defrauded by a bank clerk who claimed to be his lover. She was convicted of fraud but he never got his money back. He later married a South African woman and returned to England and was living in Kent.

No doubt he was a bit crazy and erratic like Keith Moon of the Who

Jack died at 71years and Ginger who was also very sick for years had a few words for Jack
