A while back, when the rules were first introduced, without knowing I went to watch my horse race. I wore a checked long shorts with a collared shirt and closed shoes. Almost Polo like attire.
Needless to say, my horse won that day. I was elated and ran down to lead her in. Security held me back like a criminal and wouldn't allow me into the ring. Even after screaming and shouting at them they just got more forceful. I watched my horse being led from the side of the fence in dismay.
Yes, I was also an RA member. Spoke to Larry and he blamed the security guards. I then spoke to the security guards and they said they are just doing their job as per RA instructions.
Short of it though Sly, the rules only apply to some... As most instances in this game.

Press, you can’t blame the security guards. You blame Larry Weinberg for not training the security guards. Mr Weinberg fobbed you off.

we had a runner on saturday. as a longtime race goer i always wear a jacket and tie. lots of jeans tackies and t shirts in the parade ring. just lowers the tone. personally i think the individuals concerned have no pride

This is exactly the kind of BS that chases people away from the track and from wanting to become involved in the owning experience.
Imo, the RA has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with entrance into the Parade Ring - what about the non-RA members - are they not allowed to enter the Parade Ring ? I'm sure Elvis was not stopped from entering the Ring yesterday - and he is not a RA member .....
Dress code is another matter imo - if a Dress Code has been established (by Whom?) it should apply to EVERYONE ....

Not blaming anyone bro. I've made peace with it. All I got from everyone when I queried the "rules" was defence and IT WASNT ME... I cant blame anyone as nobody claimed accountability when I made a noise about it. So, I just stopped going into the parade ring now and can comfortably show off my legs now as and when I want.
And yes, I was wearing my badge, with pride...

I was at the track today, and on numerous occasions saw a guy wearing a standard t-shirt and shorts in the parade ring. No RA badge, just slops and totally summer looking... Hey, it was bloody hot so I don't blame him one bit.
The ring was full of security but nobody dared confront him. Again, this is why I say that rules only apply to certain people. And the RA wonders why I never renewed my membership with them...
