R2, Lead Singer, ran a creditable third to Sachdev who is currently the favourite for the Cape Classic this Saturday. Wasn't well drawn last time out and was reeled in late. Much smaller field tomorrow, if allowed to dictate matters, could keep rolling.

R4, for me the value lies with Nasty Harry. The two above him in the market are coming back in distance, not sure setting fractions over further than 1200m can be likened to doing the distance itself, i acknowledge they running over 1250m, Nasty Harry has an okay record over the sprint distance and could hold sway here.

No 3 Noble Freedom – Had an improved last run and I’m hoping she can be in the money again.

No 1 Quintay – Is back over 1400 meters. He’s doing well at home and should be competitive.

No 2 Elusive Tango – Has had a grass gallop, but will need this run.

No 4 Go Man Go – Has had a grass gallop and should run well.

Candice Bass-Robinson

No 5 Jack The Jetsetter – Returns from a break and gelding. Although it’s too short and he should need it, he should be in the shake-up.

Glen Kotzen

No 3 Freedom Of Speech – Two good runs and should be hard to beat.

Paul Reeves

No 1 Fighter – He was just in need of his last outing. He’s doing well at home and over the extra distance is in with a chance.

Harold Crawford/Michelle Rix

No 2 Spectra Force – May find the 1250 meters slightly sharp but he is consistent and will run a good race.

Candice Bass Robinson

No 3 Bernie: An obvious winning chance in a small handicap like this.

No 6 Jean’s Man – He ran a very good race after a long break last time and I’m looking for more improvement from him.

No 7 Victoria Tower – All is well with her and I’m expecting a good run.

Adam Marcus

No 4 Forest Field – She is in a very competitive field and I’m hoping she can sneak into the places.

Vaughan Marshall

No 1 Crusade’s Promise – She won very well over the 1400 meters last time out and my only concern is that the 1250 meters may be a touch sharp for her.

Candice Bass-Robinson

No 6 Gimme Gimme Gimme – Competitive field of older fillies but we are expecting her to bounce back with a better run. Include.

Paul Reeves

No 4 Moon Rock – He has a good draw this time and I’m expecting him to run well.

Mike Robinson

No 8 Forty Days – He’s fit and well and from pole position, I’m expecting a good run.

No 9 Wadi Rum – Is fit and well and should be included in quartets.

Mike Stewart

No 2 Al Wahed – Trying further, could be in the money.

Candice Bass-Robinson

No 1 Sanskrift is very well and we are expecting her to be competitive.

Harold Crawford/Michelle Rix

No 3 Alfred’s Girl – Comes back from a rest, may need this run.

Greg Ennion

No 6 Hidden Strings – She has a better draw this time and I’m expecting a very good run.

Glen Kotzen

No 7 Kathleen – At the weights she should be a big runner.

Paul Reeves

No 8 Nanna Anna – She is well and ran on nicely over the 1250 meters last time. Should run a nice race.

Mike Stewart

No 10 Duchess Of Prussia – Drawn a bit wide, hoping to place.

No 11 Celtic Charm – Drawn wide, will need some luck.

Greg Ennion

No 7 Arion Express – She is improving steadily but does have a wide draw to contend with.

No 4 Hot Love – She ran on well last time out and from a good draw I’m expecting further improvement.

Glen Kotzen

No 9 Dark Mistress – She made good improvement in her last run and should be a big runner.

No 10 Miss La Dee Da – She may need further but should be included in Quartets.

Patrick Kruyer

No 8 Eva Eileen – Needs to improve and also not well drawn.

No 1 Over The Way – She has taken her race on Saturday well and could be in the money.

Candice Bass-Robinson

No 2 Duchess Of State is ready to win now and looks the filly to beat.

No 6 Royal Windsor ran an improved race last time. She will enjoy this step up in distance. From a good draw she can be included in Quartets

same can be said about POWER GRID whose last 2 runs as finished behind BERNIE although you could say POWER GRIDS runs were impeded on both occasions when just about to make its move.
i do like POWER GRIDs run last september behind SIR FRENCHIE in a fast time over the 1000, who as recently come out and completed back to back victories on the poly at fairview

Matchless Captain is backed as if the result is known.

Will rather watch.

After I wrote this,I looked at the field again and noticed JEANS MAN last run with today's weight and how they finished in lengths in that race..Thought I maybe jumped the gun abit...but let's see

Worst thing when even it's 20-1 stable mate beats it.
These small fields are a nightmare,3-10 Snaith horse beaten by the biggest outsider in the 1st.

She must have a big chance to remedy that in the last today.
Down side is that's it's going to be favorite and De Melo is riding.
