WHAT A WEEKEND WE HAVE ......
5 years 7 months ago
What a sporting, punting weekend we have in store.
The RWC should be massive on Saturday and although the Nation will be hoping for South Africa to lift the cup, the brain should tell us that ENGLAND with the handicap of -4.5 pts, look a good punt at evens.
As far as racing: Newcastle will be having a group one tonight at 20.00 and it might be worth having a punt on KINROSS 2/1 after its very impressive maiden win at Newmarket.
SAMCRO, was a highly rated hurdler and if taking to the chase game, is very difficult to oppose in the 16.55 at Down Royal. The price will be short at 4/10 so you can take DAYLIGHT KATIE to get evens for the double from your friendly bookie.
We have the Breeders Cup meeting on Friday and Saturday from Santa Anita.
The bankers for the exotics on Fri: CAMPAIGN 8/10, ARIZONA 22/10 and DENNIS MOMENT 15/10.
On Sat: OMAHA BEACH 6/4, SISTERCHARLIE 12/10 and MIDNIGHT BISOU 12/10 are the best .
Cup Mile: where the O’Brien/Moore combination with Circus Maximus should be fav but suggest WITHOUT PAROLE at 16/1 a better ew option.
Breeders cup turf: Bricks and Morter, Anthony Van Dyk and Old Persian should fight it out.
The BIG one should go to anyone of 4 horses in the shape off McKinzie, Code of Honour, Vino Rosso or Yoshida.
Don’t forget the race that stopped a nation on Tuesday morning from Australia, the Melbourne Cup, as always a 10/1 the field event but hard to look past Constantinople or Mer De Glacé as the likely winner.
Looking forward to racing at the big T on Sat and although we are desperate for rain, would appreciate it on Sunday.
Will be having a pick 6 and my early selections are the 2 Queens, Mill and Supreme.
Must add, that on the subject of early or ante, the MDK scratchings have been causing a bit havoc for bookies and the punters.
I am sure Summer Cup day will be a spectacular day but to attract big crowds we need big horses.
Good Punting

Well the weekend has come and gone ( except the Melbourne Cup).
I must say I really enjoyed my day at the Charity Mile, it was a last minute call but an invite from the owner of Mill Queen, including driver was a must.
We arrived early to watch the rugby and that put a positive vibe on the entire meeting, with the exception of the punts on England.
Some spectacular racing after the weather scare, the track was superb considering the downpour the night before.
The Queens double certainly helped with a share of a reasonably easy to catch pick 6.
Barahin and Spiritfthegroove were particularly impressive and the MDK/Murray combinations had a fantastic 6 timer keeping the big meetings to the big guns.
We were in the Elevation room, have not been there for a couple of years but the quality of the food was of a high standard. William and Scott as normal were on the ball and a plated starter is a new option if you don’t want to join the queue.
Remember the race that stopped a Nation is off at 6.00 in the morning, it’s an open event but Constantinople and Mer De Glacé should fight it out and a must for exotics.
I have a few good pics from the weekend and will download and post during the day when I link up to a computer.
