"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon/Evening Session Combined' Monday 11 August Workings.
16 years 9 months ago
Afternoon/Evening.
This afternoon/evening sessions' (combined) completed and went as follows:
The 1st runner we wanted 1.4, and with being around 1.52 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won a very tight photo finish, so close, but a good leave......
The 2nd runner we wanted 3.2, and with drifting to around 3.7 on arrival and then tumbling down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 3.2 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result........
The 3rd runner we wanted 3.1, and with being around 2.78 on arrival and shortening (went a shade of odds on!), we had a lay at around 2.78 max. The lay/gamble went and won, so fair play and the way it goes.......
The 4th runner we wanted 2.8, and with being around 3.05 on arrival and and not coming down to our lay price at any stage, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so 'one that got away in hindsight'..............
The 5th runner we wanted 3.2, and with drifting to around 3.35 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 3.2 max. The lay went and won, so they way it goes......
The 6th runner we wanted 3.3, and with being around 3.2 on arrival, we had a lay at around 3.2. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result.....
The 7th runner we wanted 3.5, and with being around 3.15 on arrival, we had a lay at around 3.15. The lay went and won, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.......
The 8th and final runner we wanted 1.7, and with being around 1.68 on arrival, we had a lay at 1.68. The lay was beaten and so a good result.....
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED.......................(2 from the first 3 (66.66%) went and won - 3 from the first 5 (60%) went and won - and 4 from the 8 (50%) went and won in total, so a tough couple of session (again), but we did it as best we could, so well played/battled)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Broke level...........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 2nd runner, and after a battle they broke level after their 5th and final lay (the 7th runner)........
'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 3.2 max and a good result see them win a chunk of their targets......They then had their 2nd lay (the 3rd runner) at 2.78 max, but a poor result see them go a little behind........They then had their 3rd lay (the 5th runner) at 3.2 max, but a poor result see them go further behind...........They then had their 4th lay (the 6th runner) at 3.2 max and a good result see 4 runner builders finish conceding 0.55 of a target at the very worst.....
5 runner builders played on and had their 5th and final lay (the 7th runner) at 1.68 max and a good result see them break level for the session...

'Traders' had to concede a little on the 5th runner at 3.2 max, but all others see them break level, or win a bit, so in the end they finish around levels, or a shade under, so well played/battled guys..
So we combined the 2 session today, and although we walk away around levels, it could've been so much worse, so we'll accept another tough day has come and gone and look forward to the next run of profits. Speak in the morning guys...
Marc.

Morning.
The workings for this afternoon's session then, as follows:
2.30 Wolverhampton. ELEGANT CAD (1.52)
Our price 3/5 (1.6) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.4, or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Please note that a little more emphasis has had to go on the early markets for clues, concerning this race*
3.30 Wolverhampton. HAVEN'T A CLUE (3.25)
Our price 5/2 (3.5) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 3.2, or under, we'll go in for a lay.
4.15 Southwell. MIZEN RAVEN (2.92)
Our price 12/5 (3.4) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.1 or under.
All the races were priced up, with non runners taken into account, up until 09.45am.
So, a boring looking session ahead with just the few to work around, and after a long think about it, I'm going to mix this afternoon's session with this evening's session, so we could have a sort of 'half-time' interval if we're not completed before we go into this evening's session. Not looking at all easy (never does), but we do have enough about us to warrant going into battle, so that's what we'll do.
**So just to recap, we're going to combine the two sessions today as it appears worthy of the task, irrespective of the end result, so we'll give it a go. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings.**
