RACE 1 :1st four selections 1 / 8 / 2 / 3•
ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 2 and 8 - ANDREA & ALEGRA : Andrea’s last was not his run, he is normally thereabouts and he does have a chance. Alegra is expected to improve, she is temperamental, but improvement is expected.•
DUNCAN MCKENZIE - Number 3 - THOMAS TUCKER : He is back over five furlong which could be a bit short for him but he is putting up good work and is very well in himself.
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 4 and 7 - TRIAL RUN & SURFIN’ AFRICA : Trial Run is working well and has a quartet chance. Surfin’ Africa has his first run for the yard and on Poly, he is working well.
RACE 2 :1st four selection1 / 9 / 2 / 5•
ALAN GREEFF - Number 1 - KEEPER OF THE KEYS : She is never far back and has an each way chance.•
JUAN NEL - Number 9 - WINTER IN MOROCCO : She might just need this, but in an open field include in all bets. She debuts on Poly but is expected to enjoy it.
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 2, 4 and 7 - GOOD TIMES ROLL, KINDRED COUNTESS & GREEN EDITION : Good times Roll is always thereabouts and has to have a chance. Kindred Countess has her first run for the yard, she may enjoy the Poly. Green Edition improved in her last and I am hoping for further improvement.
SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 3 and 5 - STORM DANCE & ELUSIVE GREEN : Storm Dance does look to prefer Poly, but she is taking a while to mature. Elusive Green is a professional maiden, she tries the tongue tie and is never far back, always in with a shout.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 6 - QUEEN NITOCRIS : Hoping for improvement.
RACE 3 :1st four selections5 / 6 / 1 / 4•
JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 1, 2 and 13 - COIN MISTRESS, BILLI ANN & TEQUILA MARIA : Coin Mistress is in good form over this type of trip and definitely in with a shout. Billi Ann has been improving with each run lately. Hoping for improvement from Tequila Maria.•
ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 3, 5, 9 and 11 - AMPLE GLORY, ASCENDING HEIGHTS, FLYING COLOURS & RUMOUR HAS IT : Ample Glory tries further, she can place. Ascending Heights showed good improvement with the blinkers in her last, she is expected to enjoy the extra and has a winning chance. Flying Colours and Rumour has It try further and can hopefully improve.
GAVIN SMITH - Number 4, 7 and 14 - GINA’S GIRL, ROYAL SPLURGE & FORT SILVER : Gina’s Girl races off consistent form and could enjoy further. Royal Spluge is working well and has a quartet chance. Hoping for improvement from Fort Silver.
JUAN NEL - Number 8 - SALVADORA : She debuts locally and on the Poly and could need it, but it will bring her on.
SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 10 and 12 - LUNCHPACK & COSMIC LOVE : Lunchpack tries the blinkers as she does tend to lack concentration, so I am hoping they help. Cosmic Love ran a decent last despite doing too much early, we’ll give her a bit more of a chance and are hoping for more improvement.
RACE 4 :1st four selections2 / 9 / 1 / 3•
SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 2, 4 and 6 - KENTUCKY BLUE, HOME RULER & RECONNAISSANCE : Kentucky Blue is very honest, she does have a heavy weight to carry, but is a nice filly and another good run is expected. Home Ruler has been disappointing in her latest start, she can do better so I am hoping she puts it in. Reconnaissance likes the mile, the blinkers are off as he over raced early in his last and if he settles he can run well.
• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 7 and 9 - MIGHTY ROCK & SKYDANCER : Mighty Rock will definitely enjoy the step up to the mile and he can place. Skydancer has an each way shout.
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 1 and 5 - SPIRIT OF SONG & MASTER NEWTON : Spirit of Song drops in class and should be thereabouts. Likewise for Mater Newton.
GRANT PADDOCK - Numbers 3 and 8 - LORD MARSHAL & JURIST : I do think Lord Marshal is looking for the mile now, he is working well and has an each way shout. Jurist loves the Poly, he was unlucky in his last and though he could find the mile short he is a runner.
RACE 5 :1st four selections1 / 5 / 2 / 3•
ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 1, 3, 7 and 11 - BOLD COAST, RINGS AND THINGS, FALCON ROCK & GREEN LANTERN : Bold Coast ran very well on local debut and has a winning chance. Rings and Things can place. Falcon Rock may need to drop a bit in the ratings, place chance. Green Lantern could find this sharp
.• SHARON KOTZEN - Number 2 - LETS PLAY BALL : It’s great that he is back on the Poly which he loves, he isn’t drawn well and the 1300m could be a touch short but he is definitely a runner.
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 4 and 10 - THE HIGHWAY MAN & PICK AGAIN : The Highway Man cuts back in trip and is expected to enjoy it. Pick Again always gives of his best.
RACE 6 :1st four selections1 / 5 / 2 / 6
• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 1, 2, 4 and 6 - LUNA WISH, BRANDINA, MENDOCINO & MISS JACKSONVILLE : Luna Wish has is in good form, this is a competitive field but she has a winning chance. Brandina is not out of it on her Guineas Plate run, she is better off at the weights to Luna Wish. Mendocino is working well, this is her Poly debut but if she takes to the surface she can get involved. Miss Jacksonville is temperamental, so it is difficult to follow her with confidence, but she has proven she has ability and has upset potential.
• SHARON KOTZEN - Number 3 - SCARBOROUGH FAIR : She if fit and well and though this could be sharp for her as she gets going late, she enjoys the Poly, is back to same sex and age group company and a good run is expected.
GRANT PADDOCK - Number 7 - MARGOT’S MAGIC : She makes her local debut and is a lovely filly, but she could just need this.
RACE 7 :1st four selections2 / 5 / 4 / 3
• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 1, 5 and 9 - VIVIR, AMBRA & ALOYSIUS : Vivir can do better so we are hoping for improvement. Ambra loves the 1000m distance on the Poly and though she bumps the boys I am expecting a big run from her, she has an each way chance. Aloysius can place.
• GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 2 and 3 - BIG BAY & SIR CALEB : Big Bay has weight to carry, but is course and distance suited and is not expected to need the run. Sir Caleb also has weight to carry but can earn.
TARA LAING - Number 4 - DI ME : The 1000m is short of his best, but it is a small field, he is drawn well, loves the Poly, is in good form and is working well, so not out of it.
RACE 8 :1st four selections4 / 5 / 1 / 3
• DUNCAN MCKENZIE - Number 1 - BUSHY PARK : Her top weight is a concern, but she is super honest and looking and working well
.• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 3, 4 and 5 - TEOFILIA, ELUSIVE DIVA & DUKE OF CARDS : Teofilia can place. Elusive Diva is in good form and should be right there. Duke of Cards can improve on his post maiden back on Poly, drawn better and trying blinkers, don’t write him off.
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 2, 6 and 9 - ENSEMBLE, STAR OF GIBRALTAR & DUET : Hoping for improvement from Ensemble. Star of Gibraltar tries Poly. Duet ran a decent last but the wide draw is a concern.
GRANT PADDOCK - Numbers 7 and 10 - ROCK THE COT & SAUVAGE : Rock the Cot was eased off and could just need this, perhaps a place chance. Sauvage has his first start for the yard, he could find this short, but is working well.
