Re: Fairview Friday

selections and perms for Fairview (turf) Friday 7 February.
FEBRUARY 7, 2020
RACE 1 :
1st four selections
4 / 2 / 7 / 3
β’ TARA LAING β Number 4 β WANGAN MIDNIGHT : He has run two good races so far and must have a big chance.
β’ ALAN GREEFF β Numbers 6 and 7 β CECCA & FIELD DANCER : Cecca can run well if not too green. Likeswise for Field Dancer but she is showing work that gives her an each way shout.
MONTANA TURNER β Number 5 β ZAZOO : He was incredibly green on debut in his last and has come on back home since, so I am hoping to see an improved run.
GAVIN SMITH β Numbers 1 and 3 β BELLA INN & STRANGER DANGER : Hoping for improvement from Bella Inn. Stranger Danger is a nice type and if not too green can be thereabouts.
RACE 2 :
1st four selection
12 / 4 / 5 / 2
β’ GRANT PADDOCK β Number 4 β BRIDESMAID BLUES : She ran a very good
first race in PE and has come on from that run, she has an each way
chance.
β’ ALAN GREEFF β Number 12 β SCENTED GARDEN : She has her first run and in an open field does have a chance at the win.
JUAN NEL β Numbers 2 and 6 β WINTER IN MOROCCO & TERRA CREEK GIRL : Winter in Morocco ran a fair race on local debut and similar again is hoped for. Terra Creek Girl is expected to improve cutting back in trip. Itβs hard to split them on work and they could both earn.
GAVIN SMITH β Number 5 β GOOD TIMES ROLL : She is holding form, ran a good race in her last and she should be right there.
SHARON KOTZEN β Numbers 9 and 11 β ASH KAT & PRINCESS PLATINUM : Ash Kat has her first run, she is bred speedily and has shown pace at home but she hasnβt been pushed into this run. Princess Platinum didnβt show much on debut and weβll learn more about her in this outing, it is a learning curve.
RACE 3 :
1st four selections
2 / 4 / 3 / 5
β’ CANDICE BASS-ROBINSON (comments made prior to travel) β Number 2 β TRAVETIRE : She is a lovely good looking, big filly but she hasnβt yet shaped in the Cape. Itβs an open, small field and she must have a chance.
β’ GAVIN SMITH β Numbers 4, 5 and 6 β ROYAL SPLURGE, GREEN EDITION & INAN : Royal Splurge is working well, her last was a fair effort and she has a place chance. Green Edition is expected to improve back to
turf and she can run into quartets. Hoping for improvement from Inan.
JACQUES STRYDOM β Number 8 β VISUAL ART : This is more the trip she is looking for so we are hoping for improvement.
ALAN GREEFF β Number 1 β AMPLE GLORY : She has been very disappointing, her better form proves that she has the ability, but of late she has not being delivering so she is hard to give any confidence in.
TARA LAING β Number 3 β PRECIOUS JEWEL : She has run her most competitive race so far over the mile, it is a competitive race but she has a fair shout.
RACE 4 :
1st four selections
6 / 2 / 5 / 1
β’ GRANT PADDOCK β Number 1 β LORD MARSHAL : He won a great race over the mile with Bernard on in his last and Bernard suggested he could go even further so he tries the 2000m for the first time. Itβs a competitive field but if he gets the distance he can earn.
β’ CANDICE BASS-ROBINSON (comments made prior to travel) β Number 6 β CAPE XTREME : The change in riding tactics resulted in a good last run and if he can repeat that, he is a runner.
TARA LAING β Number 8 β ORIENTAL WORLD : He won his maiden very well, the step up in distance is what he is looking for. It is a competitive field but he is not without a chance.
SHARON KOTZEN β Number 10 β ROCK STARDOM : She drawn widish in a competitive field but she loves course and distance, is an honest filly and can place.
JACQUES STRYDOM β Numbers 11 and 13 β BOLDNESS & HOPEFUL : Boldness bumps a tough field but she is lightly weighted, drawn well and suited to the trip, she could pop up to place. Hopeful ran a fair last over a trip too short for her and she will appreciate being back up in distance here. Also a tough field for her, but could earn some minor money.
GAVIN SMITH β Numbers 3 and 12 β SEATTLE SWING & JUST CALL ME ANGEL: Seattle Swing ran a fair last and can manage the back end of quartets again. Just call me Angel is working well and could run into the back end of quartets as well.
ALAN GREEFF β Numbers 4 and 9 β SILVERY HEIGHTS & SKYDANCER : Both ran under par races in their last outings and I am hoping for better from them.
RACE 5 :
1st four selections
5 / 3 / 6 / 1
β’ GAVIN SMITH β Numbers 1, 10 and 11 β PAPER TOWN, MASTERFUL & BENICARLO : Paper Town races off a long break but is working well and does have a quartet chance. Masterful will be better over this trip, he has a place chance. Benicarlo won his maiden well in his last, he does take on stronger now.
β’ ALAN GREEFF β Numbers 3, 4, 5 and 6 β DUBULA, FALCON ROCK, PHILOS & SEVILLE : Dubula was a gutsy winner in his last and can be there again. Falcon Rock is slowly sliding down the ratings and can get closer. Philos is holding form and once again has an each way shout. Seville has also been consistent of late and is not out of it as far
as the win is concerned.
SHARON KOTZEN β Numbers 7 and 8 β PUREST BLISS & QUERARI VIKING : Purest Bliss takes on the boys and probably would prefer the mile but she is holding form and can run into quartets. Querari Viking showed improvement in his last, more still is needed.
RACE 6 :
1st four selections
8 / 1 / 9 / 3
β’ ALAN GREEFF β Numbers 1, 3, 4 and 6 β CHAKRI, RINGS AND THINGS, FOREHAND & SOLEMN PROMISE : Chakri is holding form and should be involved. Rings and Things can do better back to turf. Forehand has a place chance. Hoping that Solemn Promise puts in more of an effort.
β’ TARA LAING β Number 8 β SEATTLE TANGO : She ran a very good third behind two good three year olds last time out and now up to her best distance must have a good chance.
JACQUES STRYDOM β Number 9 β TRAVEL IN STYLE : She is trying so hard, sheβs gutsy and well and another good run is expected.
GAVIN SMITH β Numbers 2 and 10 β KLEVER KATHY & MATTINA : Klever Kathy has her first back off a break and she may still need it. Mattina is working well, she has to handle the step up in class.
SHARON KOTZEN β Number 7 β SWEET PRESERVE : She has her first run for the yard and should find the 1400m short, but she is well.
RACE 7 :
1st four selections
1 / 7 / 10 / 2
β’ ALAN GREEFF β Numbers 1, 2, 3 and 5 β LUNA WISH, BRANDINA, CALANDRA & MISS JACKSONVILLE : Luna Wish has a winning chance. Brandina will be competitive. Calandra is up in class but looks to be progressing well now. Miss Jacksonville can place.
β’ TARA LAING β Numbers 4, 10 and 11 β CAPTAIN ANNE BONNY, PALACE QUEEN & BEYOND TEMTATION : Captain Anne Bonny needs to drop in the ratings, she hasnβt had three good runs this season. Palace Queen would be more effective over a bit further but has a chance here. Beyond Temtation has run her best race over 1400m but this is a very strong field for her.
SHARON KOTZEN β Number 6 β SCARBOROUGH FAIR : This is a tough field and she is drawn a bit wide but the 1400m will be better for her and she is not without chance.
GRANT PADDOCK β Number 8 β MARGOTβS MAGIC : She will enjoy the turf but ideally is looking for further, I am just hoping for an improved run from her.
MONTANA TURNER β Number 12 β WORLD SQUARED : She won her maiden well in her last and has actually bumped a good few in this field as a maiden in features where she never actually finished far back, so better off at the weights now she should be competitive for the minor money.
RACE 8 :
1st four selections
2 / 4 / 3 / 5
β’ DUNCAN MCKENZIE β Numbers 3, 5, 12 and 14 β BUSHY PARK, DIVINE LAW, ESCAPE TO VEGAS & LADY LIVIA : Bushy Park is honest and another good run is expected. Divine Law takes on stronger having his first
run out of the maidens but he won well that day and is working very well back home. Escape to Vegas is a decent horse and though she should need this off a break she could find the back end of quartets. Hoping for improvement from Lady Livia.
β’ GRANT PADDOCK β Number 4 β VARSITY BOURBON : He has a winning chance.
GAVIN SMITH β Numbers 6, 7 and 8 β TUNDRA, ROYAL FORT & WILD MOVE : Tundra enjoys track and trip. Royal Fort has needed runs and has a quartet chance. Wild Move enjoys course and distance as well and must be included in exotics.
TARA LAING β Number 9 β BEETHOVEN : He didnβt quite see out the 1400m in his last, here he could actually find the 1000m a touch short, but he can earn.
JACQUES STRYDOM β Numbers 11 and 13 β ADIOS GRINGO & CHESTNUT WILD : Adios Gringo will enjoy being back on turf so we are hoping for better. Chestnut Wild ran an improved last but could find the 1000m trip sharp.
ALAN GREEFF β Number 1 β SHEPARDβS DELIGHT : She probably is better on Poly, perhaps a place chance.
