Has the problems between the Bremner yard and the grooms been resolved? Don't want to waste my time studying for a race meeting that gets interrupted again.

I still believe the betting public should be better informed. Either it’s sorted or not. I for one haven’t bothered to study. The people in my betting group also haven’t,so it’s not clever treating the public in a wait and see position.

TRAINER COMMENTS :

RACE 1 :

1st four selections

1 / 7 / 3 / 2

• ALAN GREEFF – Number 1 – MARMARA SEA : He is a big horse and should find this sharp but he could still be in with a shout.

• GAVIN SMITH – Numbers 3, 4 and 5 – SURFIN’ AFRICA, GREY FERRARI & CROISADE DE VERITE : Surfin’ Africa is working well, he has a place chance. Grey Ferrari needed his first and is expected to enjoy the Poly surface. Croisade de Verite is working well and has a place chance.

STEPHEN LERENA – Number 2 – SILVER STONE : He did show pace in his Kimberley start and was actually right there until suffering interference up the straight which cost him, so trying Poly today he should have pace and I am hoping to see a good turn of foot late, he has place chance.

RACE 2 :

1st four selections

1 / 2 / 3 / 9

• ALAN GREEFF – Number 1 – LINDA LOVES LACE : She relocates with good Cape form and is expected to run well, she has a winning chance.

• GAVIN SMITH – Number 2 – HOLLYWOOD THUNDER : She is a professional maiden and will be thereabouts again.

STEPHEN LERENA – Number 6 – KAYLEX : Her form is poor, but she does show decent work so I am hoping she will enjoy trying the Poly and that she can improve.

JACQUES STRYDOM – Number 7 – BELFAST CHILD : She found the 1000m on Friday too sharp and though ideally she wants even further than the 1200m here, it is at least a furlong further.

RACE 3 :

1st four selections

4 / 1 / 2 / 5

• JUAN NEL – Number 1 – WINTER IN MOROCCO : She was disappointing in her last but should be better suited to this trip and I am hoping for better.

• TARA LAING – Number 4 – PRECIOUS JEWEL : She ran a good second last time out and must have a big chance in this field.

JACQUES STRYDOM – Number 6 – TEQUILA MARIA : Hoping for improvement.

GAVIN SMITH – Number 2 – MARMALADE CAT : Marmalade Cat has her first run for the yard, she is expected to enjoy the surface and I am hoping for improvement.

SHARON KOTZEN – Numbers 3 and 5 – MARY LEE & ELUSIVE GREEN : Mary Lee has her first run for the yard and also tries Poly for the first time. It will be a learning curve and she could need this racing off a break but we are hoping for improvement. Elusive Green is knocking, 1400m is up her alley and she should be thereabouts again.

RACE 4 :

1st four selections

1 / 2 / 6 / 5

• GRANT PADDOCK – Numbers 1, 3 and 6 – JURIST, PINCH POT & AWAKENING: Jurist races off solid form and ran a very good last against stronger, he is a decent runner. Pinch Pot has his post maiden run so he does have a tougher task, but he could place. Awakening is much better than his last run, it was on grass and he will appreciate being back on Poly, lightly weighted and well drawn, he can pop up.

• GAVIN SMITH – Numbers 2, 8 and 9 – TOM ‘N JERRY, WHITELEAF HILL S & BENEVOLENCE : Tom ‘n Jerry is drawn well, he enjoys track and trip and will be thereabouts. Whiteleaf Hills will appreciate the appy claim and he has a place chance. Hoping for improvement from Benevolence.

ALAN GREEFF – Number 4 – SKYDANCER : He could place.

TARA LAING – Number 5 – DEEP RIVER WOMAN : She would have been better off against the fillies but she does run better on the Poly and she must have a chance.

JACQUES STRYDOM – Number 7 – OMAHA TRIBE : He always has the potential to pop up.

RACE 5 :

1st four selections

4 / 3 / 1 / 9

• GAVIN SMITH – Number 1 – BIG BAY : The appy claim is definitely a help, he is at his best over 1000m.

• ALAN GREEFF – Numbers 2, 3, 4 and 7 – CAPTAIN’S CHOICE, AMBRA, ALOYSIUS & STOPTHINKINGOFME : Captain’s Choice should enjoy the Poly surface and can place. There is nothing between Ambra and Aloysius who
are both in good form and enjoy course and distance, they are both expected to be competitive again. Stopthinkingofme can improve back on Poly.

TARA LAING – Number 8 – THOMAS SHELBY : He is at best on Poly and he is not without a chance.

DUNCAN MCKENZIE – Number 9 – BARBARELLA NIGHTS : He is up in class but he is so honest, rarely runs a bad race and very well in himself, will run well.

RACE 6 :

1st four selections

2 / 6 / 9 / 1

• ALAN GREEFF – Numbers 1 and 6 – GREAT ACHIEVEMENT & LADYSMITH : Great Achievement is drawn neatly, she has a place chance. Ladysmith has an each way claims.

• JACQUES STRYDOM – Numbers 2, 8 and 10 – BENEFICIARY, TREE OF LIFE & GO SNOW GIRL GO : Beneficiary ran a good race in her last and has a chance here. Tree of Life can’t be recommended with confidence but her best recent run was over course and distance. Go Snow Girl Go was never in her last, hoping for better from her here.

GRANT PADDOCK – Number 4 – ORLANDA : She is fit and well and has a place chance.

GAVIN SMITH – Number 5 – KINDRED COUNTESS : She cuts back in trip and I am hoping for improvement.

TARA LAING – Number 9 – CLOUD BREAK : She is well weighted being a Novice Plate and she must have a good chance.

RACE 7 :

1st four selections

1 / 2 / 3 / 5

• ALAN GREEFF – Number 1 – FEE FI FOE FUM : She won well on local debut and can be there again.

• GAVIN SMITH – Numbers 2 and 6 – MASTER NEWTON & DUET : Master Newton is a soldier, he always tries hard and loves course and distance. Duet could manage the back end of quartets.

TARA LAING – Number 5 – LION KING : First run for the yard, he is working well and can earn.

JACQUES STRYDOM – Number 8 – JADEED : Disappointing last but he could still have needed it so I am hoping for improvement.

RACE 8 :

1st four selections

5 / 4 / 2 / 3

• GAVIN SMITH – Numbers 1 and 3 – CLOUD ATLAS & LOVE TALK : Cloud Atlas will appreciate being back on Poly, is working well and she can be thereabouts. Love Talk’s wide draw is a concern but she is holding form well.

• ALAN GREEFF – Numbers 2, 4 and 5 – STEP LIVELY, QUAKESHAKE & ELUSIVE DIVA : All three are in solid form, they are hard to split and are all expected to be competitive.

TARA LAING – Number 6 – ELUSIVE JAID : She didn’t run a bad race in her last and is expected to further improve.

SHARON KOTZEN – Numbers 7 and 9 – EFFORT & CHERRY POP : Both fillies should find this a touch sharp but they are fit and well and capable of running decent races.

JACQUES STRYDOM – Number 8 – FLAME OF FIRE : She loves Poly, is well and does have a chance.

DUNCAN MCKENZIE – Numbers 10, 11, 12 and 13 – DAY TRIP, FURLA, NEVERLETUGO & LADY LIVIA : Day Trip was disappointing last time out and while I am hoping for improvement, she must take to the surface as she tries Poly for the first time. Furla is better on Poly, she travelled too hard early up the straight on the Turf last time out and will do better. Neverletugo also does her best on Poly. Hoping for improvement from Lady Livia
