"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon Session' Friday 15 August Workings.
17 years 1 week ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon's session completed then, and went as follows:
The 1st runner we wanted 2.8, and with being around 2.86 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 2.8 max. The price then took a turn and drifted back out to our own price of 3.1 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade went and won, so the way it goes, but glad of the 'free' lay now though.....
The 2nd runner we wanted 3.2, and with being around 3.0 and shortening on arrival, we had a lay at 3.0 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result.......
The 3rd runner we wanted 1.7, but a non runner and 5% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 1.67. The price was around 1.92 on arrival and never came near our lay price at any stage, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave.....
The 4th runner we wanted 1.5, and with being around 1.92 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage, so all had to avoid another race. The runner was beaten, so the drift justified this time, and 'one that got away in hindsight'........
The 5th runner we wanted 3.3, and with being around 3.15 and slightly shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 3.15 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.6 and beyond, so a chance of a 'free' lay for traders and builders. The lay/trade went and won, so the way it goes, but glad of the free lay now though........
The 6th runner we wanted 3.45, and with drifting to around 4.9 on arrival and not coming back down to us, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr. Early traders happy though....
The 7th runner we wanted 2.8, and with drifting to around 2.92 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 2.8 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result.......
The 8th runner we wanted 2.7, and with being a well supported 2.46 and shortening on arrival, we had a lay at 2.46 max. The lay was beaten after a close finish, so a good result........
The 9th runner we wanted 2.5, and with drifting to around 2.6 on arrival, being over 20 minutes to the race and with only trading left on offer, I'm calling it a day there. Good luck traders with the remainder.
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED.................( 2 from the first 3 (66.66%) went and won - 3 from the first 5 (60%) went and won - so a tricky and testing start, but we dug in well and did a good job. Well played.)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) finished level.........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and after a battle they ended up breaking level after their 5th lay (the 8th runner) and so finish levels for the session.
'Bank building' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that only bought relief.......They then had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 3.0 max and a good result see them win a chunk of their targets........They then had another 'free' lay (the 5th runner) that only bought relief again..........They then had their 2nd lay (the 7th runner) at 2.8 max, and a good result see them hit their targets.

'Traders' have won, or broke level on all their trades thus far, so well played and good luck with the remainder..
So builders play a very solid, disciplined game to miss the winners and hit their targets, so very played guys. Rollers battled to a draw, so they'll accept that after a tough start to the session. Well played and speak in the morning at the latest guys.
Marc.
