Dividend after Opening Leg of P6 / JPot

Good day all

I noticed something that's been bugging me for quite a while and would like to hear your opinion so I can try to understand it. How is it possible that the payout after the first leg of the P6 or Jpot, more than 95% of the time equates to the Win dividend of the horse in the opening leg? Is that the norm to start of with the same amount for the exotics or is it coincidental that the pool divided by the nr of winning tickets on the first leg equates to the same amount.....?

Just check it for a while and you'll see what I mean.

I would guess its because the take out is done at the start.
After that if you have a few outsiders it jumps rapidly.

Ok its a bit early and may have misread the question.

I am sure you aware
That you have an exotic pool
There is then a take out from the pool

The winning tickets would be proportional to the odds
Eg the hot fav wins and many tickets qualify.
If its an outsider only few tickets .

Still not exactly sure of question.

Will have a coffee

The payout after the first leg of the P6 or JP, SHOULD be more or less the same as the Win dividend of the particular exotic’s 1st leg –
e.g. - Win pool of 1st leg = 100,000
dividend on winner=10 (means there are 10,000 tickets on the winner)
pool of exotic = 700,000 – there should be more or less the same % of the pool on the winner of 1st leg,
i.e. there should be about 70,000 tickets on winner of 1st leg of the exotic, and the “dividend” should be about 10 after 1st leg
………………….if you get my drift
