I recently relented and got DSTV again....they offered me what I thought was a good deal....but alas it was not and will not renew next month....:S

.....watched Carte Blanche last night and caught an insert about this Louis Leibenburg oke that is supposed to be/have been a diamond tycoon and went t!ts up with about ZAR20BAR of investors money back in 2010ish.....bragged that he bought a few race horses so he could sit at a table with Mrs Oppenheimer....:ohmy:

Extracted a clip and checked his purchases.....while he handled gullible people looking to get rich.....some racing oke/s steered him into some expensive duds...:S

"The synergies between the racing and casino industries in similar sponsorship deals are proving successful," Kennedy said. "Grandwest Casino reported boosted hotel occupancy rates as a result of bookings from the racing fraternity and an increase in aggregate expenditure on the casino floors as well."

He said an example of the "great synergy" had occurred at Emperors Palace, which invited about 80 of its "high rollers" to the national yearling sale. Platinum card holder Louis Liebenberg attended "out of curiosity" and spent between R3 million and R4 million. He had never owned a horse before.

....well it seems this oke has carried on with dodge diamond investments again and through social media has new investors on the hook for 9 BAR.....:whistle:

I think he had with marking,not sure these days. So many of these types in racing. They just come out of no where and buy as if they paying with Monopoly money. In the end it catches up. If I was sars I would be looking into some of these owners.

.....I believe that this oke may have bought an expensive seat at the table so he could rope what he thought were other affluent people into his diamond deals.....he in his 1st time purchases bought a 2BAR sales topper(2nd highest price 2006 National yearling sale).....wonder if he ever got to sit with Mrs O .....and tried to tell her he was going to be the DeBeers next opposition......:dry:

He owned Lubricator the Grey gelding.. Trained by Weiho... Clearly remeber the interview at Clairwood Park when he won his maiden.. He cheeky said not only MJ can afford horses in the millions.. He can as well... But seems they can also loose it together....

....that is the one he paid 2 BAR for and won 3 races 3rd in the Daily News.....total stakes R269K paid a BAR for a Fort Wood filly that never saw a track....the oke still seems to living large and in charge....he thinks that the CB interview with Derek Watts was good PR.....instead got his @rse ripped just like he did with his investors.....:oops:

I loved that horse. The horse doesn't know what the owner gets up up to.
Watched him at Turffontein twice on his comeback runs.

....@ZAR 2 BAR purchase one should expect a lot more class....his record is 3 wins 1 maiden plate 1st time out and 2 graduation plates with MR90 as highest rating earned in placing in the Daily News...went for big tom because Jallad was the big flavour in those days and I think he may have bumped Jafee and/or the bloodstock agent testing the market along with some other flush gentlemen when bloodstock was beginning to peak before the 2008 money market meltdown ....and then there after the era of real monopoly money buyers '....in hindsight one of the most uninspiring catalogues ever .....as none of the horses that went for a BAR and more amounted to anything....the sales topper at ZAR2.4BAR won 5 races 3 of them in Kimberly and only R272K in stake money....:S
