The New Ra
5 years 1 month ago
Again Im forced to respond and almost be drawn into mud slinging which I promise I'm seriously trying to avoid because funnily enough we in racing all have much more in common than opposite.
“The Racing Association, who are contributing R13.1 million towards stakes in both the Phumelela and Western Cape regions, are stepping up to the plate in playing an important role in ensuring the sport continues after lockdown is lifted.”
The racing association might well indeed see itself as playing an important role. Hard to dispute that when they are the ONLY one's sitting at the table. However that is not even my main point. The the MAIN people stepping up during these awful times are the owners and trainers across the country and NOT one document has come out thanking us for our continued support during these trying times.
Mr Tarry states
"Tarry commented: “The recent stakes cut will be devastating in the immediate future, but it must be considered highly encouraging that the racing operators remain committed to sustaining horse-racing in South Africa"
The racing operators should be committed that is their business. The lack of trust and commitment is from us the silent ones that have witnessed this train heading for doomsday for years and years and now that CV19 has put the final nail in the coffin we are again silent and expected to continue providing the product for the operators to sell and manage on our behalf.
Gentlemen with all due respect Im not a keyboard warrior. I have spent the last 3 weeks gathering support out of my own time and my own dime. Ive spoken to many people personally and we all want the same thing. What we need and demand is a voice and a little bit of respect.

Hi Easy not sure what other response you are looking for?
You have had the vote, not sure on the final number but probably 60/30 ish on the NO vote.
You have your list of trainers.
Do you have enough ammo to get an invite to the racing authorities table?
Lets be fair ABC is an open forum with its ups and downs over the many years.
However it suits racing authorities to treat us as " these moaning face nameless bastards"
We have tried to keep away from personal attacks over the last few years but you just need one negative or ambiguous post to get a blast that "ABC will never change"
The other posts get nullified by the negative few.
The point I am making is that you will just get ignored by the racing authorities trying to gain support via forums unless you try TAB or Turf Talk but not sure if you are allowed "comments"?
Wish you all the best and many racing people have ideas how to improve the previous or current situation.
Keen to contribute .......
As per my initial post on your call for change.

What’s new about them?
Not one of the guys on the board now would have been bullied by Larry imo
Same guys, different ideas?
