Which individuals would you have playing a role in racing post Phumelela?

So we have rumours that Phumelela are folding. If this turns out to be true, a clean sweep of the overwhelming majority of the rubbish that work there is an absolute necessity. The lockdown actually works for the people taking over as it gives them time to source replacements for the departed. Now I have no idea who the real big shot positions will go to I am sure the Slacks or whoever take over have their men in place, but what about the "lesser" positions? I for one would get a guy like the Paul do Carmo in, he seems to have a head on his shoulder. On a lighter but serious note, our R Stranger/muhtiman is a "must have" for the position of tote Customer Care/ Operations manager going forward. Hiton "pirates" Witz should also be considered. We need proper racing people to do a proper racing job!!!

Thoughts also on who should stay, if any, of that sorry useless lot.

Thanx but no thanks but I believe that Paulo De Carmo would be a big asset in any establishment. What would really interest me is John Stuarts old job of international business class traveler and raconteur where I could travel the International racing jurisdictions wine and dine, meet ex-pat car salesmen in Singapore or Hong Kong then become drinking buddies with them and then organize and offer them jobs at the TBA or any other racing related institution.
It does not matter if they know nothing about horses or breeding but being able to fill in a betting slip would be the closest one could have been to a horse.

They way that the cookie is crumbling we could lose another race track. Then its a good case of Rantjies revisited.
There will be nothing to stop Turffies from being turned into an extension of the rubbish dump. Meanwhile back in the Cape Phum liquidators will be calling on loans and the Milnerton property may have to be liquidated. A Durbanville bespoke racing centre may become reality sooner than expected. I nominate Magi to keep those okes from deviating and further procrastination.

When all is done Magi can then handle the beverage and entertainment portfolio.

Going forward, I would like to see the bookmakers step up and contribute to racing in a meaningful, consistent way.
