Tote Pool Information
4 years 11 months ago
Hi Guys,
Does anybody have a contact at Gold Circle/Phumelela that can help with tote pool info? Or an email address possibly? I placed an open bet last night on UK Racing and the bookie that I use is disputing the payout amount. Tabgold crashed last night and only have pools for the first few races and nothing thereafter. I have tried sending some emails to Gold Circle & Phumelela but no luck so far.

Presume you are referring to the last 2 races at Yarmouth where there were carry overs on exotics in the last 2 races
Pool info can be calculated by adding the carry overs to the dividends. Sounds like your bookie has T&C 's on payouts as per pools and not on actual tote dividends. That is always a problem with bookies and the open bet.

They won't pay out more than the pool total.
I've learnt this many times with them especially in HK where the double pools hardly ever exceed R500.
Personally I think if they want to play the open bet with the totes pools then they must carry the risk.If it was their pools then fair enough but it has nothing to do with them and if they don't like it then don't offer it.
But as always they have T&C's to protect themselves.

I am actually looking for Yarmouth Race:6 in particular. I don't understand why tabonline doesn't save these pools somewhere we can access them?

Ja there is no way a bookies pays a R45 and/or R50 swingers, back in the day there was a R20 limit with some okes that took these bets off book (no open bet then as it was completely illegal)
There is something blatantly wrong with those payouts anyway but must admit I got the R50 one for a R2 bet as the pools were skint

Hollywood pay these ... I caught a swinger five times that paid R183 on Wednesday ... and I was paid in full....just under a thousand rand

If the pools look legit then bookies will pay accordingly, however the race in question the favorite was in the mix yet the swingers were huge and if the bookie was stung though suspected pool manipulation he has every right to bring the T&Cs into play.

The bookies choose to offer the open bet so surely they need to pay what the tote payouts are.
You can't just select what you want to pay and what you don't if you think the pools have been manipulated.
They have to prove that manipulation took place first before denying payments.
They knew what they where getting into when they offered the open bet so unless they can prove manipulation, and be able to show how they came to that conclusion, they must pay.

Some have in their T&Cs that they do not pay out a bet of which the total winning sum is greater than the tote pool

I think they all have that.
But you where talking about they won't pay out if they think manipulation took place.
If I see value on the swingers and place a R50 bet and there was manipulation but not from me surely they have to pay out.
A part of racing is trying to find value and on Tabgold you can see exactly what all exotics are paying except for the pick 3 which you can find on Tabonline.

Guys remember the bookies don`t have these rules to rip anyone off or anything..
These rules are in place as a safe guard... Like the quartet syndicate that took them for millions recently..
Also ask the question why the professional punters use the open bet and not the tote.
