Vodacom Durban July Final Field Announcement and Barrier Draw
The final field announcement for the 2020 Vodacom Durban July and the all-important draw for barrier positions will be televised live on Tellytrack (Channel 239) from 13:05 on Tuesday 14th July. The final field will include 18 horses plus two reserve runners.
The draw for barrier positions will be hosted at Hollywoodbets Greyville and undertaken by Chris Lazarus, Vodacom’s KZN Managing Executive. Given Gold Circle’s practice of aligning the barrier draw with the saddle cloth number, the draw will embrace the new format with Chris Lazarus drawing horse names to match the draw / saddle cloth number. Proceedings will take place under the watchful eye of KZN’s Chief Stipendiary Steward Deanthan Moodley.

The only lot that benefit from the card order being in draw order are the bookmakers. It will never change now.

Soqrat and Tierra chased Hawaam home in his final start in SA (probably his best performance on SA soil). Unusual to see the 4th horse beaten almost 10 lengths in a group1. What rating do do you think Hawaam ran to in that race, in your opinion?

He never once before ran beter than 131 rating( he ran 5 or 6 times 131 from 1200m to 2000m ) and the 134 he ran in his last start is in fact questionable because soqrat didnt run close to his rating and terra never confirmed his rating over 2000m before so in all possibility i would say hawwaams best ever was his last start t a doubtful 134 rating

Food for thought, if Balgarion was not given the full penalty for his last win, i.e. the maximum he could get was 6.0 points and not more, then surely he must be the best weighted horse in the race, despite appearing to be under sufferance with his current rating of 119.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
