Have a look at how Erik the Red takes out The Contractor and then this horse gets bounced like a pinball between the 300 and 200m mark.... will the stipes do anything? I wont hold my breath ....

My take-away from the July:
1. Great that the meeting went ahead but certainly missed opportunities with the betting sites being slow/down
2. The Golden Slipper remains a field race for exotics....I still cannot make a case for the winner.
3. The July result shows that the winners of The Daily News/Cape Derby/SA Classic are our top 3yr old classic horses. Do It Again/GTGLight/Golden Ducat the best performances for me.
4. I had Belgarion as my first choice on weights however should our premier race be won by the best weighted horse or the best horse? "we hid him away from the handicapper" Should this be the route of the winner? Cudo's to the trainer, job done considering the conditions.
5. For me Vardy & Bunker Hunt are not betting propositions beyond 2000m, believed that before the MET and Saturday confirmed for me. Vardy will probably start as favourite for the Champions Cup.
6. Celtic Sea is absolutely bomb proof and a celebrity in her own right that we maybe need to celebrate a bit more.
7. If memory serves, Infamous Fox has won the same race on July Day 3 years in a row (or on 3 successive July days).... what a story for horse and trainer
Thanks to the legendary slop/baseball bat King, THE MAGI, for the competition, much appreciated and thank you for the replays Bob, always good for the postmortems
