Keep studying form and you end up in the bush. No way on form they could've been so confident against that field. Obviously something changed with the training. The problem is, we see so many false shortening of horses as well, there's just no way to know.

Thor this horse ran against winners last time and was not disgraced!

I generally ignore formlines of workrider races, more often than not they don't work out. Admittedly on paper, that was a good run. Having said that, look at what MYSTERY TRIP ran against in her last race, and then tell me you would be AS confident against that horse in a maiden. Secondly, what happened with Go Kitty in its previous two runs just before the last race against winners, total of 24 lengths behind. This horse is well exposed enough for any form studier to believe that the last run was an anomaly rather than the horse's ability. Don't kid yourself into believing that the previous run was the reason for the betting coup. Punters will find any a million reasons for a horse winning after the run.

Having said the above, I have just convinced myself I am a poor form studier, maybe I will just follow the betting going forward.
