This Anton Marcus should retire from race-riding. He has not been himself for a while now!!

I know it's easy to say after the race but blady hell Jarett Rugg with a 9-10 shot?
Snaith couldn't win with it and any other jockey either than Marcus up you would have got 5-1.
Ridiculous value, the horse was swaying as they came into the straight and duly even ran out the PA.

Anton Marcus doing what he does best.
Taking the odds-on to the front and running it out of steam to finish out of the exotics.
Only happens about 3-4 times a week and nothing is done about it.

If he's got a fit horse underneath him his front riding tactics are the best.
This horse is either below par or wasn't brought to the races in a fit enough condition.
Just look how it was swaying in the straight, had absolutely nothing in the tank.
The pace couldn't have been too strong as the horse on it's outside won very easily.

Marcus has been an average jockey for about two years now.
Has gone through a Pierre Strydom like slump and riding for retirement.
Loves to go to the front and/or come 3-4 wide into the straight to try pinch races and more often than not he fails.
Any jockey can win with a fit horse that is in good condition.
Should've kept the appy on Innogen.
He would've produced a better ride guaranteed.

....lets not be to harsh on the jocks.....this is off season when mostly weaker horses get their outings....the ex-Kimberly earners formally from here start shaping.....and then Dean K with his better than mediocre string now burgling the lowly spoils......time to take a break.....

I am still confused as to what exactly Marcus did wrong? lol.
That horse was clearly undercooked today - Direct your comments at the trainer, not Marcus, he did nothing wrong, if you really need to comment. To suggest that appie Zuma would've won on that horse today when Marcus couldn't is laughable at best.
Suggest you guys go and watch the ride on a horse called Arnold at Newcastle last night and then tell me your opinion on what is a good ride or not.
