My opinion is that this format is being marketed to various jurisdictions which do not allow betting and to companies for marketing mileage. The pitch is that it will introduce new customers and also grow opportunities for studs in terms of export.

What is hidden is the actual commercial value and the manner in which this is being sold makes me skittish.

The obvious questions are;
1. What is in it for the average owner and daily punter? Nothing that i can attach value to
2. Why accommodate all of these changes for another company unless the fee charged is substantial?
3. Unless a substantial fee is being paid why allow this company to use a product that owners & punters fund?
4. Could there be an opportunity for crypto currency wagering with a global exchange?

Magi, i don't expect answers and actually don't want any, the above are my thoughts. I cannot understand how GC which is a racing club could make this decision on behalf of it's members without revealing their rationale, this is not an everyday sponsorship deal.

Ok each race has 12 runners
What happens with a scratching
Are the Chinese allowed to punt on a team with the highest points via a tote?
Are our bookies pricing up on the winning team as per international jockey challenge?

Lets wait and see how it goes, gather no helping other team members allowed to improve points situation.

Who did the due diligence on this company and what exactly are they about? Do they offer Lottery racing to other jurisdictions?

If they sell the SA racing product on to other countries why are the local operator executives not doing this? Why would SA racing need an agent to act on our behalf?

I hope the members & owners at GC have had sight of the contract before they allow their product to sold to other jurisdictions for a pittance. If they have not seen the contract then should the meeting go ahead? If the meeting goes ahead and this company has a non-compete for this format then more problems lie ahead down the road.

I do understand that racing does need more streams of income. But to be honest I still don’t really understand what it’s fully about and how we bet on it. There are so many articles on it that explains nothing clearly and halfway through the article I get bored and leave it. Things should be put simple that every punter can understand.
All what’s in my mind is how will I identify the horse I back on Wednesday. It will be similar to international day where it is confusing, but the problem I have is that when I am at home I mute the commentary especially in Durban as I will follow the horse I backed instead of competing against the horse that Sheldon has backed.

So this is what I found, and these are my thoughts .... they may be wildly inaccurate...

Firstly, the company was registered on 05 February 2020 with only one shareholder Steven James Ajax, address 9 Dan Y Craig Heights, Pontyclun Wales.

After trolling around .... I compiled these thoughts ... I have concluded that they want to start a Chinese Horse racing lottery, as the Chinese government tried in 2008.... (see below what I found)

I reckon this idea was first conceptualised by a chap named Jonathan Robert Holmes who registered a company called

SUPER SIX HORSERACING LOTTERY LIMITED now known as Thoroughbred Classic Ltd (since 2010)

This guy MAY be a bit shady as he has 37 different companies registered to his address (most of them dormant). Either Steven Ajax was/is associated with him or he wants to pick up on the idea. (guess work)

Chinese Lotteries
China's lottery began in June 1987. Although the government recognizes the China Welfare Lottery as the official lottery of China, a legal sports lottery which began in 1995 operates alongside it under heavy taxation. Lottery game offerings include lotto, numbers, sports betting games and instant tickets.

The Ministry of Finance, China Welfare Lottery Issuance Centre (CWLC), Ministry of Civil Affairs, General Administration of Sport, and Ministry of Public Security all share regulatory duties over lottery operations.
The government briefly experimented with a horse-racing lottery product in 2008.

In the USA there are a few iterations ..... link below is for the Maryland State Horse racing Lottery (virtual, not real horses)

www.mdlottery.com/games/racetrax/

The million dollar question is "What is in it for Gold Circle Racing?"

Thoughts gentlemen?

Thank you for the effort Magi, much appreciated. This is the type of information that should be made available before any event takes place and also the type of due diligence that should be done before the product is sold. The IP being the horses being raced belonging to the owners and the event which is staged by the operator.

If owners are being paid an appearance fee, is this covered by the sponsor? The prize money is paid by the punter and a third party company then edits the film and packages it for sale at almost no input cost.

SA racing already sells the live footage of our racing to international customers, i wonder if this company is paying the same amount proportionately?

For those who cannot access the Maryland site ... this is what it is about.

Racetrax® is an exciting computer-animated Lottery game that offers the thrill of horse racing and the payout and prizes of a Keno game. Racetrax® has:

Advanced 3-D graphic animation that makes the horses and races appear realistic.
12 horses per race, with each race lasting up to one minute.
Races beginning approximately every five minutes. (The Lottery reserves the right to modify this feature at its discretion.)
A Bonus wheel that spins before each race giving players a chance to multiply their winnings.
Fixed probabilities of winning on each Racetrax® horse number.
Winning numbers that are randomly generated and displayed on TV monitors.
Many ways to play and win!
