Greyville Sunday - Surface change

Following heavy rain over the past few days Gold Circle has been forced to make an early decision regarding the race meeting scheduled for Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday, 4 October.

More than 72mm of rain has been recorded over the past 10 days and with more rain predicted over the next 48 hours, the decision has been made to switch the race meeting to the Polytrack.

Race 6 distance changed to 2 000m, race times remain as carded.

“With the forecast of more rain coupled with the track already being Soft, it makes sense to us and in the best interests of all stakeholders, to make an early call to switch the meeting to the Greyville Polytrack,” said Sheik.

Rumour has it that France Galop are thinking of taking the learnings from SA in dealing with rain at its racecourses and moving the 2020 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe over to the Polytrack. Still to be confirmed.
