Markus Jooste facing new fraud allegations: report

The Hawks are investigating new fraud and money-laundering allegations against former Steinhoff chief executive Markus Jooste whose empire collapsed three years ago in what is said to be South Africa’s biggest corporate fraud.

The Sunday Times reported that the Hawks are targeting the bank recordsof Jooste’s horse-racing company, Mayfair Speculators, between 2000 and 2009.

The Hawks attached details of bank transactions involving hundreds of millions of rands moved between Steinhoff, Mayfair Speculators and other Jooste entities.

These include a company breeding thoroughbred horses, involving transactions of about R52 million, and millions into property development companies. Jooste should give back all his Winning's and trophies because how can anyone believe he won all the races HONESTLY when all this proof of what a Con artist he is . In my opinion he did worse than bring Racing into disrepute he F*#%ED it up ... The irony of the situation was that nobody in racing said a word he was the blue eyed boy what a Joke ..

Let's see if the breeders can find some other free spenders - If not how long can prices be justified that are impossible to recoup in stakes unless you are a punting owner. Jooste boosted sales prices to increase stallion service fees. Let's see if that trend can continue with breeders scaling down. For as long as I can remember every few years there is a big spender that seems to have arrived from Mars - Remember Hilda Podlas....Zola Mohobe and there are many more who surface in the smaller yards
