A full card of Maiden races is a nice change from handicaps. While the overall quality of horse is not great, one can generally narrow these down to a few real contenders, and not have to worry about being snookered by a horse which has been run down the tubes for a while to get its rating down and suddenly is a trier.
makes the exotics worth a go.
My list in order of preference per race
Race 1 too many first timers
Race 2 16; 1; 9
Race 3 5, 12, 8, 7
Race 4 11, 5, 12, 6, 9
Race 5 2, 11, 3
Race 6 6, 10, 5, 7, 12, 1, 8, 11
Race 7 13, 9, 1, 6, 14, 3, 10
race 8 1, 9, 16, 11, 12

Generally speaking the pick 6 has been more difficult than lotto.

Mind u the lotto/powerball has recently rather easy. 😳

I agree with PeterD - this makes a change to the handicaps and looks pretty straight forward in most cases; thoughts ...

R1: Really fancy Dancing Arabian - backed it at longer odds; seems held by Showdown Kid, but that was over 1000 and I expect DA to turn the tables over the 1160m; some money around for Bold Decision, who knows ?

R2: Money for Celestial Love and should go close; I just prefer Eskimo Pie though on his recent run behind Push Off. Also some money around for Magic Number, so hard to say, but for me I think CL and EP look quite decent; both Sunny Quinn and Imitation Game need to improve but have obvious place credentials

R3: Euro Cent looks the right one in a weakish looking field; Prince Alf worth another chance on his penultimate and is the main danger imo; again money for two first-timers Joe Harman and Ushuaia who do not have to be superstars to feature here

R4: Any of the 4 fancied runners can win this - would depend on which one has made the most improvement; both Dawson runners worth watching

R5: Magical Flight very hard to oppose; not a lot between Fort Snow and Mauby, while KeepingthePeace can place in this weak field

R6: Manterio a little short in the betting for me, is the one to beat, but at the odds Supreme Elevation much better value; Wolffs World and Mcebisi could improve more, while Hukum's debut better than it looks, as the winner won by more than 10 lengths

R7: Earl tries further and if he stays should go close; however with some stamina doubts, it may be worth taking him on; Great Esteem had a gallop on Saturday and is sure to get the trip; not a lot between Fort Alado, Fast Draw and Passing Storm, while Ball Rolling has also improved in his first effort over ground - that was a Maiden Handicap though, so seems to have more to do here; Bold Resolve looks moderate, but apart from perhaps Earl, it is not strong field - so not without a chance either.

R8: Super Duper and Watching Closely should fight this out; Iced Tea, Wonderous and Immaculate look next best, while Sophia's First tries ground after a long rest, so may be the one if there is an upset

Enjoy B)

Maidens days are good for owners. Anything good for owners is good for racing.
