see if you can find a bookie to gives you odds on second place as he recently (wednesday or so) had a 50% second place from his last 30 rides... I've been making a bit using him as one of my place certs in my daily 4 horse yankees

if the FORM is there he will place problem is too many people don't worry about the horse and just back the jock and if he is interviewed early he often warns people that a horse he is riding does not warrant the price - For me he is far more consistent than other riders - He is also brilliant at beating bad draws in the Cape which lesser local riders cannot achieve - He is also amazing for the Crawford yard

Snaith Comments

Golly Miss Molly (1): Hoping for a place in a very competitive opener.

*Veronica Mars (2):* Value bet of the day. Have a good each-way bet and build up a kitty for the *carryover pick 6!*

Kasimir (3): Champion but comes off a rest and has some serious competition. Prep run for the Gr1 Cape Flying Championship. Include in all bets. The class individual in this field.

Rio Querari (3): In top form and fully fit. Include in all bets. Has upset potential.

Philโ€™s Dancer (4): *Run Fox Run* looks hard to beat and the possible banker on the card.

Bayberry (5): In great form. Should be in the money again. Open race.

African Night Sky (6): Second run after a very long rest. Just a prep run and still needs to regain full fitness and form.

Belgarion (6): Champion and a prep run for the Gr1 Cape Town Met. Rainbow Bridge runs well fresh and Clouds Unfold has her third run into this race and will be fully fit and dangerous. Belgarion doesnโ€™t like losing!

Wild Coast (6): Needs to improve one recent form.

Captainโ€™s Ransom (7): Not much value but a worthy favourite. Hasnโ€™t put a foot wrong to date and will produce her usual game race. Sheโ€™s all class.

Dazzling Sun (7): Improving fast and a very smart sort with a bright future. Could cause an upset if things go her way. Include in absolutely everything and worth an each-way nibble at 14-1. Follow this filly over ground.

Trickster (7): Solid form but big step up in class. Honest sort and if she stays the trip she will run a reasonable race.

Churchhaven (8): Far better than form suggests. Hoping for an improved effort. Include.

*Salvator Mundi (8):* In good form and better than recent form suggests โ€“ been gelded and can expect improvement. Will go very close despite the short trip.

honesty from the trainer but should not be allowed to race according to nhra rules - punters in totes won't even see this and could include on earlier form - This just enforces my desire for non betting races to be used as prep runs for horses like this that are trying to get fit for races like the QP and Met July simmer Cup etc

Lovely day, with a moderate headwind expected. Summer course was looking good on Wednesday, but I'm still fuming the way Fynbos was badly bumped at the start and then the jockey found all sorts of traffic trouble up the straight.
race 1 An open maiden. My heart is with Perfect Princess, but plenty others with chances Duplicity lots of scope for improvement and will enjoy the long run in. Would expect the 3 yos to dominate, but the two older fillies have fair form and not without chances. Golly Miss Molly ran ok in Durban without setting the tracks alight, but must be respected. Glitter in Air disappointing last run but deserves another chance. Forgetful Girl should enjoy the step up in distance and Van Niekerk sticks with her. selection 4/8/3/9/5
race 2 Our mare Helen's ideal is badly in at these weight conditions, but she is fit and well and after the scratchings could sneak a place. Larentina is slung in at the weights here if regaining her 3yo form, but she has been way below best her last three. Follow the Star next best weighted, but prefers further these days and also below best last 2 runs. Kelpie is 3rd best weighted, and has had a prep run a month ago, so must be respected. Veronica Mars has been priced up favourite presumably because she is fit and improving, but is as much out at the weights with those three as is my mare. selection 6/4/7/1/8
Race 3 Kasimir is the class horse but is vulnerable over 1000m. All of Riverine, Russet Air, Pacific Trader and Bold Respect have also won at the highest level. Rio Querari has the benefit of being match fit, and Elusive Trader could spring a surprise at the weights. selection 1/3/2/4/6/5/7
Race 4 Looks a two horse race and I will pick Run Fox Run over Celtic Sea this time. selection 2/1/4/7
Race 5 A competitive race, and worth noting that Holy Warrior ran 10 points above his official MR last time and could not get an adjustment. Chrome Yellow is consistent but I think others preferred. Flame Tree is a narrow first choice from Bayberry, but quite a few with chances. selection 8/7/2/6/9/1/5
Race 6 Fitness and pace will be the key. Rainbow Bridge is the class horse, but Cirillo has had two good recent runs, as has Clouds Unfold. selection 3/9/1/2/7
Race 7 Captain's Ransom is my pick from Princess Calla, but as we know, these 3yo can show huge improvement from one run to the next. Zarina, Due Diligence, Lemon Delight , Dazzling Sun and Chat Ching all look top class and capable of an upset. selection 1/2/4/8/6/3/10
race 8 Salvator Mundi should win this unless Happy Aristocrat shows good improvement from his debut. Dollar Brand, Bumrah and Greenlightflash are the possible upsets. selection 2/10/1/3/4

Race 5: 1,3,6,2,8,7 (4)

Captain's Ransom ran to a 118 when catching Clouds unfold ( while she stretched away from the field) while still learning to race.... my opinion she has quite some improvement left in the tank .
The best 3yo filly i seen this year is the well exposed anythinggoes but her best is 120 . My opinion CR will be champion 3yo once the penny dropped.

Captain will play with this lot she facing today.
She should be 3/10 fav .... her price is a Christmas gift .... hammer it
