Some to consider...

Race 1 - 5 Gold Griffin, 2 Captain Chorus...small field so unsure if I will take anything
Race 2 - 4 Tight Five, 3 Purple Pather, 1 The Eight Lord...small field so unsure if I will take anything
Race 3 - 6 Oscar Wilde, 3 Crank It Up
Race 4- 10 Afternoon Tea, 9 Mode, 1 Magical Flight
Race 5 - 2 Spring Break, 3 Thumbs Up
Race 6 - 1 Double O'Eight, 2 Battleoftraflagar
Race 7 - 1 Second Base, 8 Nartjie
Race 8 - 3 Illuminate, 1 Pin Up
Race 9 - 2 Rock Of Africa, 6 Written In Stone, 1 Pidgeon Rock

All the best to all Clanners for today...stay safe and healthy...

Interesting and competitive card with 7 handicaps - should be plenty of different opinions - so I think exotics will pay well - thoughts ....

R1: Small field but closely matched - all but Oyster King have chances - Fact and Brand New Cadillac have both won over this trip at this track, so those would be my top 2 if pushed

R2: Only 7 runners, but none could be safely ignored; Bartholdi over-raced last time in a strong field, and with Khumalo engaged is my first choice; Back to Black and Purple Panther have both won at this track and could be next best imo

R3: I fancy Storm Commander here; stable in hot form, pole position, very well in with the allowance and may be better without blinkers (which have been removed); Crank it Up looks safely held by SC, but likes this track and could be 2nd best from a good draw; Oscar Wilde my 3rd choice from Against the Grain, but if SC gets beat, any of the others could take advantage imo

R4: Afternoon Tea has come down 20 points in the ratings and if she takes to this track from a good draw, rates the one to beat for me; my 2nd choice is Roha - also tries the track, but good maiden win and the allowance will help; 3rd choice a toss-up between the Magical Flight and Swiss Bank - both are in form so can't be ignored

R5: Graduation Plate, where Portico and Spring Break stand out on official ratings - however neither have run to their ratings in their most recent starts, so I am not convinced; Thumbs Up returns from a visit to the Poly at Greyville, but has won (THAT race) at this track and from a good draw must go close imo; Midnight Caller looks an interesting runner; finding betting support, but bred for further and seems to be better over 1400

R6: Back to the handicaps; Double o' Eight in form, but has never won at this track so could be vulnerable; BattleofTrafalgar has pole position but looks very high in the ratings imo, so not convinced; dangers towards the bottom of the boards imo are El Zara and Angel's Power - both are ideally suited to this track and trip - AP does have a wide draw to overcome, but could be running on into the places; All of Me has won over this track and trip, but that was in yielding going and for me does seem better over 1000 - has found betting support, so probably can't be ignored in an open race

R7: Sea Cottage Stakes - not easy; Second Base looks well in here and has won at this track, but a wide draw could complicate things; for me the jury is still out on Al Muthana, rated to win here, so could be good enough; Dr Doolittle does not seem to be the stable elect, but for me should finish in front of the stable mate, who has found betting support; the others do seem held, but would not be a real surprise if any of them has improved enough to take the spoils

R8: Real tough F&M Handicap; I am including Mazari and Twice the Act, who both look well in here at the weights; the safer options would be Pin Up, Virocana and Traveling Wilbury, while Only the Brave also has credentials imo

R9: The Contractor is finding the market support, but not a lot between him and Fitzwilliam who has the better draw; Written in Stone and Pidgeon Rock both seem held by Fitzwilliam, but both could improve; real roughie to throw in, could be Louis the Seventh - no chance on his last run, but on his penultimate is weighted to beat all the main contenders

Enjoy B)

R1 these type of races I tend to side with the proven stayers and light weights...so I would be in the Gold Griffin camp
