R6. # 3, Captain Flinders (5/2) at the weights must be the bet of the weekend. At the weight turn-around can't see the favourite, Firealley (15/10) finishing ahead of Captain Flinders, and we all know horses don't run on paper. The weight differential is there for all to see, so i won't labour the point, just don't think Firealley will repeat the last effort with this weight. You be the judge :-
Others I'm hoping can go close :-
R1) Preemptive Strike
R2) Host Of Angels
R3) Rose Princess
R4) Son Of Silk
R5) Midlands Magic
R7) Vikram
R8) Tales Of Us

Beautiful day here, expect a light westerly crosswind. Course will be running fast.
Race 1A tricky opening race as quite a few have shown good runs, but inconsistent. Shortlist is Benjamin, Bumrah, Picketberg Alley, Jack the Jetsetter and Preemptive Strike.
Race 2 Queen Niyabah regained form last time, and is the one to beat. Fly to Rio, Arendelle, Flashlight the dangers among raced runners, but watch out for Granny's Moon, and possible big improvement from Fusillade and Host of Angels.
Race 3 Our filly, Helen's Blush went close last time and she has probably come on further from that run. Gets a good draw and a top jockey. Slight concern about dropping back in trip, as she will go 2 miles when she is older and stronger. Good winning chance and should not miss the places. Rose Princess two good sprints and will relish the longer trip, and is probably the one to beat. Crimson Princess good last run and is also a danger.
Race 4 Cape Point is also bred to stay further. I was happy with his debut sprint, and he has benefitted from that run. Will still need the experience here, and unfortunately drew in the bush. If he had drawn well, might have had a place chance, but best just watched today.
Crack it Open looks the right one, Ben Suyay the danger, and improvement expected from Son of Silk and World so High.
Race 5 I was strong on Adios Amigo, but with him scratched very open race. Path Of Choice is down in the ratings and is a tentative selection.
Race 6 Another open race. Sh Boom got hit 9 points for placing in PE and then dropped back 5 after last run. He looks ew value at the weights.
Race 7 Open. Cat Daddy well in at the weights if regaining his best form. Jailhouse Rock very consistent. Fort Agopian can steal it if they let him get away carrying a light weight and no headwind.
Race 8 Van Gogh looks the right one but no value in the price. If The Summons finds his best form then he can upset. 1,2,3, 7 must all go into quartets.

R2, Queen Niyabah, if the trend is anything to go by, due to run a poor race. But here's the quandary, second favourite is Orange Bowl, and the closest she has finished is 3.80 lengths at 4/1, Host Of Angels (40/1), closest she has finished is 3.70 with excuses. Know where i'll be putting my money. Conversely, Anton's mount Granny's Moon wouldn't have to shine too brightly to win this. Swinger 11x 12
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
