Johnny Peate - UK Apprentice

Won the second at Chelmsford on a 20/1 shot (Happy to say that I backed it) ... but that's not the story ... it was only his second ride. His first ride was on 29 January for the Johnston stable .... also a winner. What other jockey starts 2 rides two wins? Any names spring to mind?

Not sure on the two from two but another apprentice scored on his first ride reently, Frederik Larson who I think is apprenticed to Mick Appleby.

Can't think of any. Only a trainer comes to mind.....it was Geoff Woodruffe in the Cape when he started out and had four or five winners in a row.

I stand to be corrected but I vaguely remember Grant van Niekerk winning his first few, I think on a Kotze trained horse in KZN.

I think Chad Little also won first up for Marshall at Scottsville but not sure how many in a row?

Some good apprentices around in the UK at the moment, the current standard is extremely high among flat and jump jockeys.

Mark Crehan another name to chuck in here. Not a new apprentice but recently got his licence back after time away and has won two on the trot since returning for his new boss, George Boughey. Could make it three with a horse called Three C's later this evening at Southwell.
