Nairac along with John Stuart and Rob Scott are involved with Betfred. Depending upon who you listen to, they are hoping to buy out the Betting World chain. Fair enough it makes sense and tbh the Irishmen deserve these partners. What is very interesting is the talk that Gold Circle are splitting with RTT and will be broadcasting KZN racing under their own steam. Now if this is true, and both Stuart and Scott have physically been at the Rivonia premises of Tellytrack this week, how does this not constitute a conflict with other local KZN bookies, and in particular, Hollywood. Hefer and his crowd have pumped millions into KZN racing and this can only be seen as an absolute slap in the face.
......sabre rattling Island style....no way GC can go it alone in trying have an independent broadcast without the TT platform.... they will be treated like Borrowdale was....out of sight out of mind....and no matter how much they are to be owed for the handshake agreement....trying to go it alone will surely sink them......:huh:
......can you imagine having to watch KZN racing streamed on YouTube or their own GC channel.....wonder how many of us are prepared to f@ck about to get a delayed stream to watch the endless poly on a phone tablet or laptop as many TVs do not come with streaming devices.....and those that do....it is a mission to flip backwards and forwards to TT for other racing fair.....if GC are trying to force an outcome they will land up with the short end of the sh!t stick

I will definitely not be installing any outdated satellite systems just to watch racing, so if it is not on DSTV I will not be watching it. Even if it is on DSTV, which I doubt will be the case given that DSTV barely wanted TT on their bouquet, I will not be watching a channel that only shows KZN racing, and risk missing all the other venues broadcast by TT. The KZN racing product right now is at an all time low, and this is akin to taking a private company public while at its lowest public sentiment, so to speak.
I am sure that this will be the majority view point, and I highly doubt this idea will go through, on the assumption that it was even touted to begin with.
OTA im not saying I know anything for sure but the Bet/Bet rumours are strong and I've heard from a few still involved that something will go down. Personally I don't know how Hollywood would take this or what it would mean for GC but let's wait and see. As for GC doing there own broadcasts I have not heard anything along those lines certainly not from the people I know anyway..but who knows. I have to agree with Muhti ..pull together FFS. This whole MOD takeover and the fantastic five are very very quite. And while I realize a few things still need to be finalized there is just silence!!
Or maybe you need to be in the inner circle to know whats going on. Why bother with keyboard warriors and punters... why tell them anything, they only fund the game.

@Bob pie and a coke on the outcome regarding Nairac getting his hands dirty with the BETFRED crowd, who very clearly are a resurrection of the crowd that sunk Phumelela? Stuart, Scott, and hearing the ex Stuart right hand man who was given Tellytrack to "manage". Du Plessis a certainty as a fellow conspirator/funder although here I will admit I have no cast iron evidence. Island style should read slimy style in my opinion. I ask again do the GC board have knowledge that Nairac is involved with the BF crowd and is looking at alternate ways of broadcasting the GC images? The meet at Multichoice did not go the way they had hoped.
.....the punter will always remain insignificant.....an afterthought..... a nobody and with no say.....not much better for owners either... the life bloods of the game providing product for wagering and at great cost .....only to be sidelined by the operators again playing the ego game....and with local racing still on life support ....what a shame.....:blink:

But I’m hearing from some senior people in the know that the “ex Stuart” man is respected among the industry and responsible for some of the biggest deals that have kept racing going.
He seemingly has a good name overseas in the industry, and responsible in have growing the international business.
Also hearing rumors that he’s been asked to leave immediately, and he plans on immigrating anyway.
.....what I find as rather embarrassing for certain of these GC execs....that when PHUM went to the wall they thought that TT was going to be theirs.....only to find they did not even have a written contract....:oops:
