Good morning clan

A huge thank you to Dave and Bob for their selfless work
We need more meaningfull discussion on the racing thread. We put up our selections some without even providing any evidence to support.
Can we not change how we do things. We have loads of experience amongst us and we need to come together to find the winners.
I know a proper discussion of a race is needed,or is this impossible.

Trying to get to the bottom of race 5.

For now please discuss any race or post your selections
From a personal point tend to concentrate on Gauteng racing but need to look at more races then normally is the case
As Shaheen would say lets hit them hard

It is important we play the ball and not the man.

While I'm not much of a horse racing punter, I am now certainly looking forward to horse n hounds analysis.

Who knows, the bug might bite again :cheer:

Thank you Lionel i will give it my best
The problem is twofold.I really struggle to express myself compounded by method. Its difficult summarising the math i.e Formgrids.
Looks a closely contested race'
btw they can even thank the lord but when push comes to shove i'm still ok

You know what personally don't prefer any of the horses that ran to Mind Readers last win including Mind Reader, top horse and weight has less an effect in sprints but not easy going for three in a row.
Horse make fools of us everyday but no problem
Greens im not impressed with what she has beaten
Muletta speed figure looks a little suspect
Nina Amelia might be outclassed

That leaves
Roksolana
Persica
Freedom Seeker
All Of Me

Roksolana cannot be taken seriously which does not mean she can't win
Freedom Seeker is a good horse and her first run in Gauteng was with MR and Ulla.Ulla is better off but the scope for improvement is with the Marwing horse and last run in KZN was tops in a strong field
My prefernce is for Persica but her form is a bit in and out
Her good runs will see her beat this field with just 53,5kg and has the services of an aggresive in form jockey
Double figure price so you could place too

would love to hear from others R5

Race 5 - Mind Reader does not know how to run a bad race, but at the weights Ulla is the right one (also has won over the track and trip). Freedom Seeker I have sentimental connections, but not happy with the way she has been travelling up and down the country; All of Me best over 1000, so place chance

Race 1 - Two Fools Collide - confusing form - yes close to Anna Capri who was on debut and around 6 lengths behind Sweet Future (unbeaten in her next 4 starts) - which makes me wonder what happened to Afternoon Tea, who is now racing off a 71  ; on the other hand TWC finished just a shd in front of Lhasa Star who even after trying her luck on the Greyville Poly, is still a maiden - having said all that I still prefer TFC to Last Song, who I think needs more gorund - and the rest look moderate - I'll just watch

Race 5 : Ulla at the weights should win
Race 1: Sheltering Sky , although this had a few chances , this course and distance should suit ideally , hoping to crack it today

My Yankee for tomorrow - after only finding 2 of the 4 yesterday :(

Enigma Code (w) - form stronger that the rest of the field imo
La Luvia (w) - giving her another chance - imo better than rated
Ulla (w) - has them stone cold at the weights
Lady Nica (4p) - improving, tries blinkers and drawn on the stand side - fair value imo
