Gallop and formgrids fixed odds

some very weird odds being displayed recently.

10/9 last race winner today
100/3. now i must go work out thats 33/1
50/7 Humble Tune . 9/1 or such
200/3 light without. my head hurts by now
20/11 flashy appache.

why make life so difficult? now i have to go to Game and buy a scientific calculator to work out my bets.

nothing strange about these odds - used to be how you could strike a bet before the internet took over
10/9 - a 11/10 shot where you could take 100/90 instead of 99/90
50/7 - a 7/1 shot where you could take 500/70 instead of 490/70
20/11 - a 18/10 shot - 200/110 instead of 198/110

etc., etc

Just to add further.

Its also due to the decimal odds and fractional odds being less used.

7/1 is now 7.14,
8/1 is now 8.33
12/1 is now 12.5, etc

You will always be able to wager a round figure to get to R100

7/1 is now 7.14 = R14 wager to get to R100
8/1 is now 8.33 = R12 wager to get to R100
12/1 is now 12.5 = R8 wager to get to R100

Fractional odds can be displayed with various bookmakers but most of them automatically changes it to the decimal odds when striking the bet so it can be rounded to win R100.

Agree it is confusing and time consuming to work these things out when studying form.
Prefer the old format by far, worked very well.
