What are the odds on this?

7 races in a row, Diamonds and toads has been no 7( obviously drawn 7 in KZN) Need a mathematician or statistician to work that out!

Or maybe the computerized draw system is faulty Craig, the likelihood of 7 consecutive draws of 7 done by a computer is in the billions....

Well I suppose Craig you would have to take the number of runners let's say 10 runners so the odds would be 9/1 that it would be drawn no 7. Then repeat this process for the seven races

Eg 9x9x9x9x9x9x9 ( I am just assuming that there were 10 runners in each of the races.

However ir would also be the same odds of any random set of draws over the 7 races
Eg 1_2_3_4_5_6_7

Tigershark, it was after scratchings that she always came into 7, no matter where she drew in the weights.

Its the same as black vs red on a roulette table. The odds are specific to that spin or, in this case, that race. Previous results don't factor in. Using the hypothetical 10 horse field, the odds for future draws will always be 9/1 that she draws 7.

I agree but 7 times in a row has to be huge odds.
