Frodo wrote: 2 intriguing Features for the 3yr olds, surrounded by very competitive Handicaps - thoughts from the guest presenter B)

R1: Money has poured on the Gauteng raider, and although a Maiden, he does boast very good Gauteng form - which usually is good enough in KZN - I was lucky enough to get a fair price yesterday, so let's hope he takes to the track; danger imo could be Rodriguez, who ran a fair race around this turn last time; Waterberry Lane also has good form, but his win was on the Poly and he does come off a break; Star of the West imo will struggle to give Cavalier King 3kgs and a beating

R2: High level handicap, where Gainsford looks to have a favorite's chance after being bowled over in stronger company last time; Good Rhythm very consistent, but has only won once on the turf and does seem to have something to find at the weights; others to consider is Via Salaria (pole position but better further ?), Mr Fitz (also better further ?), Waywood, Goliath Heron (long time since last win), Love Bomb (tries blinkers), Sunset Eyes (jock ?) and Hard to Play - who is at the bottom of the boards, but if not for the draw, would have been one of my top choices as he is a 3x winner this track and trip

R3: Even more competitive now with the scratching of Hugs Accepted; Purple Moon's Up is a winner this track and trip; does seem held by State of Mind, but I have my doubts about the apprentice; lots of others to consider like Point of Sale, Dancing Feather (has pace, so the wide draw maybe not that big a drawback), Captain Ariano, who gets a rating drop and a good draw, and Dieci; lots of support for Georgina Rose, but imo that one needs to prove her form on the turf

R4: Flower of Saigon does tick a lot of boxes, but has a big weight to carry; Simply Complicated won very well on the Poly, does get 8kgs from FoS, and according to the stable, is their 'best runner on the day' - so has to be respected; the others to consider imo is Integrity , who also won on the Poly last time, Twice to Sydney (winner this track and trip) and Consol Queen (finished in front of TtS in March and only a small swing in the weights)

R5: Extremely competitive Lonsdale (as is usually the case); lots of talk about Black Knap - must have a chance but no good thing imo; Silver Host has a wide draw, but over this type of trip it may not be such a big issue - is closely weighted though with the likes of Chrome Yellow and even Holy Warrior; Matterhorn very good last run, but imo also has a tough task at the weights on comparative form with the likes of Wealthy; lots of others to consider like Catchafallingstar, Merlin from Berlin, Bayberry and Favour, who looks quite well in here imo

R6: Princess Calla has had a good prep, and could be more ready than War of Athena, while on a line through Sparkling Water, Netta may prove better than both; also Chat Ching is only a length behind Princess Calla, and although she seems held - who knows what will happen over this 2000 - there should not be such a big difference in the odds

R7: Fascinating race; on a line through Rascallion, Kommetdieding should hold Linebacker, but one has to take note that there surely is a difference between Cele and v Niekerk, so the odds seems about right imo; interesting riding arrangement on the v Vuuren runners, but as The Hawk has mentioned, it could be that Kennedy is eyeing the ride on Second Base in the July (as Lerena won't be able to make the weight), rather than Lerena having the choice - would have thought someone would ask  Dr Doolittle is finding lots of support in the market, so who knows; also Rascallion, The Gatekeeper and Russian Rock are surely not that far behind the likes of Linebacker as the odds would indicate - luck in running could be the deciding factor

R8: Lots to consider; safest options for the PA at least seem to be Prince of Taranto and Chatterton's Keeper; Greenlighttoheaven has for some reason drifted right out to 14/1; Love the View is the stable's 'best runner' on the day; big market support for Preemptive Strike and Vista Nova, while I do hold a candle for Drunken Sailor - ratings drop and pole position can't hurt

R9: Would need to go find my pin for the last; for interest I thought Saipan (despite a wide draw) likes this track and trip and could be the value.

Enjoy B)

Oof:whistle:
