Weekend Update.

Good morning all and Covid appears rife as we enter the third wave.

In addition we are heavily into power cuts as the weather gets colder, if we include water supply issues and general lack of service providers, we are in for tough times ahead.
As normal the poor will be struggling under these hardships and our thoughts and prayers are with them.

As far as Covid jab, we managed to find ourselves in another “departure lounge to Heaven” and believe it or not the building was “Utopia Place”, it used to be Union Caterers, so it’s gone from, meals on wheels to jabs on arms.
Would have to say the heath workers were exceptional in attitude and care, you could immediately tell this was no dept of home affairs or license dept.
Mrs S breezed through the process but they could not find me in the system but eventually the Sister helped me out to get the Jab.
I did feel really sick the following day to get some indication what it might be to have a serious attack and it’s not pleasant.
Getting back to the staff, they were on hand to help with pens, reading glasses and details on how to complete forms on clip boards and we were all placed on social distance chairs.
I really expected someone to start calling bingo numbers to the background music of “when I’m 64” by the Beatles.

Have been fairly busy this week with the hair product deliveries.
A client phoned for products to be delivery early yesterday morning as she was doing an early morning Brazilian 👀.
I was slightly apprehensive entering the salon as I had visions of a lady with her bum in the basin having a shave, fortunately it is a product for head hair.

I was able to visit the stables yesterday morning for a good breakfast and catch up with Candice and Ali.
We considered that Humble is highly intelligent and was practicing social distancing with his last run.
Trying to work out his best distance and at this stage it’s between the computaform sprint and the champion hurdle as it’s shown skill at jumping fences. Every confidence that Candice will work it out.

Looking at weekend Punting options are as follows.

Fairview today
After the Storm is the banker for Miller/Mxothwa combination.

Scottsville big Sprint Day on Saturday
Can be a very difficult meeting but Varistocracy looks hard to oppose and Sheela looks a bit special for the Azzie team.
We also have a difficult card At Kenilworth where the exotics should also pay bombs.

Turffontein on Sunday
Smorgasbord is the obvious banker for the lethal Peter/Kennedy combination.

The UK racing this weekend has the Oaks and Derby but no Mill Reefs or Nijinsky this year.

Epsom today where Santa Barbara (Moore /O’Brien ) is a weak selection to win the Oaks at 28/10.
Al Aasy has had 2 eye catching runs this year and can carry on winning ways from Japan and Mogul.
Docaster this evening where the well bred Bashosh looks a cracker, plus Jack Mitchell can also have a double with Kingmania.

It’s the Derby from Epsom on Saturday and rather boring I will stick with Moore and O’Brien to get the Oaks and Derby double with Bolshoi Ballet.

I think we are having a bit of a lull as far as racing before the July and the uncertainty of racings future, we can still have a few twists and turns before July 3rd.
We still have the Gold Challenge with Rainbow Bridge and Bulgarian to change the betting but the real breaking news would be to hear GTGL/WOA/MUZI story where Silence is Golden and would have major impact on ante post.
Plus we have a man desperately trying to get his horse in the final field Atyaab, he might not expect to win but even having a horse in the July is the race that ever owner wants to win .

I will choose a couple of songs today before my deliveries, was considering Davy’s on the Road again but
Let’s go for Silence is Golden for our racing friend
Plus Bat out of Hell for our Chinese friends?

Good Punting
