July pick 6, your early thoughts?

I am sure we will be told to get our pick 6 on early, but it’s probably best to wait for late scratchings and any betting moves.

It’s certainly not easy but here are my early thoughts and would like your views to try and establish a reasonably priced perm.

IMO you have to have at least one banker.

Leg one
It’s a difficult start and we don’t want to go out early.
The field would be best but not a financial option.
Bayberry,Atyaab, Doublemint, Nebraas, Smoking Hot and a couple of bigger prices required.

Leg two
Here we can go short with Desert Miracle as a potential banker or add Kailene and Imbewu to be sure.

Leg three
Another difficult race where probably ten selections are required

Leg four July
I don’t think an outsider will win the big one and Rainbow Bridge, GTGL, Do it Again, Linebacker, Rascallion should be enough.

Leg five
Ok this will be my banker WOA and if you have big pockets add Captains Randsom and Princesses Calla.

Leg six
It would be great to have the field but we need as many as possible.
MKs Pride, Ultra Magnus, Captains Tatters are essential

Good Punting

Dave Scott if Escape Artist wins today then I will post my pick six selections. Else consider the July day a tricky card.

Most years the P6 on July Day pays bombs, think this year is no exception. For me, race 7 and 8, one could probably go "lighter" than the other legs.

Race 4, they are betting 5/1 the field, difficult to be confident on anything as the market suggests, probable a field race and hope the biggest outsider wins.

Dave, the two juvenile races, 5 and 6, historically through up a result, go as wide as your budget will afford. Sod's Law, it's the one you leave out, that puts you out looking at these two races.

Race 7, the first 6 in the betting and add a roughie, for me, that would be She's A Keeper. Whilst it is difficult seeing her winning off the rating, she has defied the handicapper on numerous occasions, so maybe she is better than rated, we'll know after the race.

Race 8, the top two in the betting should suffice (in P6 one), play a second P6, and leave the top two out and include the balance of the field. Depending on the previous results on the day, you know which P6 you will be shouting for:).

Race 9, field, you'd be very upset to go out in the last leg if you survive this far.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

At first glance - yes, need to go wide in the first - Dream Destiny on his last run can't be left out imo; Leg 2 - Kailene has to be a big runner, but can't ignore Desert Miracle; very wide in Leg 3; the July, we all know the leading lights and for me I think one either goes with Got the Greenlight, or include the top 6 in the betting - for me I'd also be including Sovereign Spirit - willing to take my medicine if She's a Keeper wins; I'd include both War of Athena and Captain's Ransom, and then I'd go shorter in the last - Ikigai, MK, Warrior's Rest and perhaps Kasimir

I won't be able to afford more than 1% of the Perm - but here goes:

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12,15,16
3,8
2,3,4,7,8,12,14
1,6,7,8,11,14,16,18
1,13
1,3,6

R8,566

As stated, P6 divs historically pays very well on the day; so basically one would hope to reach the final leg and then cover

Definitely racing, copied from a different thread :-

I won't be having a punt on the July this year but don't leave out paths of victory from your perms. Why is Warren riding it
