We should pay more credence to owners. We always hear dribble and accolades for trainers who are merely employees (who own 10% without paying) of owners. It should be an owners’ association who conducts awards to all employees in the business.

Fancy the double :-
R1) Indlamu x (R3) Remember When
Indlamu, this will be his toughest task to date, but looks a progressive sort. Is only a kilogram out on ratings with Native Tongue, so hoping the decent draw compensates. The dark horse could be Legitimate who has competed in some stronger company, well drawn and also off a low mass.
Remember When, was very green on debut, way back after 200m, then took off with 400 to go, hung in badly, but once he got the hang of it, won a tad cosily. Believe the Greyville bend will suit the horse's style of running and he will fetch them in the closing stages.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

No way to tell if Indlamu would take to the Poly - for me I had an each-way stab at Guru's Pride - well suited to the track and trip and Kennedy has won 5 times on him

I guess the trainer doesn't know the answer to that either, but i assume he won't have entered the horse if it really didn't have a chance. At the price, Guru's Pride is the value.

Race 8 RB 1 x 2,3,4,8,9,11
Will be a rough race on the bend and depend on luck in running down the straight
Chimichuri Run - blitz 400 to finish in the GHorse 21.9, ran 5th (1.9L) last year in the Mercury from 13 draw

Thoughts on pick 6
Would enjoy and appreciate your inputs.
First leg need a few
2-4-7-8-9-12 plus ?
Second leg
1 and 7 could be enough maybe 4 and 9 for bigger perms
Third leg
As many as possible
1-4-8-10-13 a must
Forth leg
1-13-14 should cover it
Fifth leg
3 banker or add 11?
Last leg
4 and 9 could be enough or 5 and 6 to be sure
Good Punting for a big payout
Above a R360 perm.

Re: Gold Cup day - Saturday 31 July
3 years 10 months agoOwner of the year is getting interesting
Suzette Viljoen R5 206 .675
Drakenstein Stud R5 072 .775
Chris Van Niekerk R4 948 .775
Those figures are wrong, unless they suddenly decided to change the rules, owners figures include restricted stakes...
I remember Sheik Hamdan lost the award because CVN`s restricted stakes in 2018/19 i think ?
It`s still close but CVN has a slight lead

I'm really hoping Suzette Viljoen is champion owner as she supports Ziets stable
