R6, Captain Of Stealth, should go very close from a decent draw on the winter course, especially if the goings on top.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Going will be very heavy after 30mm of rain on Sunday night. By now the water table is high so the course very slow to dry out. Not an easy card.
Race 1 We have Gentleman having his third run. Is still very green, and has yet to bring his homework to the course. Would have preferred to run him over 1200m but would have been a reserve runner there. Hopefully can improve to run into the money. Some well bred first timers including a half brother to Legislate and a half brother to Horizon / Santa Clara. Empire Glory is a professional maiden, but the older horses can’t be ignored in the heavy going. A tricky opening leg to the bipot.
Race 2 Helen’s Legend makes her debut- full sister to Helen’s Blush and half sister to Helen’s Ideal. Big strong filly, will need further, but has been on the grass and hoping to see her running on. The raced runners have mostly put up fair debuts so again difficult to know which will improve the most.
Race 3 A full field of 16, and a lot will depend on whether there is a track bias. Gem King and Universal drawn extreme outside and Que Shiraz and Autumn Moon down the inside have shown the most so far.
Race 4 A very competitive handicap where anything can win
Race 5 also rather open- the shortlist is All about Al, Apollo Ace and the Second Wave.
Race 6 Five of the runners return from a KZN campaign, the two that stand out are Captain of Stealth and Pinkerton, although Speed Machine and Wild Coast are quite capable of winning.
Race 7 Six runners left after scratchings and anything could win.
Race 8 We have Cape Point running here, and if he can build on his last improved run, has an ew shout in this moderate maiden handicap. He has a good draw, and his work has been good. Dyanne is the one to beat, but she has to give us 2kg, whereas in an ordinary maiden would get 2.5kg sex allowance, so I don’t think that she should be quite so short in the betting.

Really quiet thread today guys? No one playing?
How are the pools these days?
Someone told me the other day that only JHB are close to covering costs these days... Not looking good for some regions!
