Many questions regarding race 1. I believe Edward Longshanks is only "getting a run" but was told it beat Abalus in training.
Abalus race 2 now scratched due to no suitable jockey? Lyle was carded. Question why was Lyle replaced race 1 and the horse Thai Treat also not scratched or is Kennedy regarded as suitable enought by the Fortunes?
Khumalo was surely available to ride Abalus as he had no ride in race 2?
Today will tell me whether the Fortunes are hounorable racing folks.
Just my opinion.

The reason given for scratching Abalus does seem strange - unless she is a difficult filly who needs a specific type of jock - but as you point out, there are quite a few who could have ridden her

The form of the raced runners in race 1 is so bad, that even my late granny on her tricycle would have beaten them.

One of the 1st timers should win........

This first race, on paper, is a disgrace to racing.

CODE ZERO -on a line through SAVAGE LOVE has the fav beat by many lengths (blinkers have improved the fav though)
With the course running up front Alula's Star should win
I have Opera Glass as a strong contender

So now we know the real reason why ABALUS was scratched. Could not beat a poor horse in Edward Longshanks!!!

Not sure if they have had enough rain But Hewitson said in an interview ( think it was the weighted to win show ) that the horse Senescence race 6 , needs some cut out the ground to win

I am perhaps ignorant or blind but when a jockey runs second 3 times on your horse then he is a suitable jockey - (Penny) - the guy had no ride in the race so why did the stipes think this was a reasonable reason to scratch ? More likely the race was not suitable with the winner being vastly superior to this horse
