Over the past 2 years, the only guys that have stepped in and made a financial contribution to save SA Racing (in a significant way) are HWB and WSB. The commitment from these guys are incredible given the manner in which 4Q halfwits have gone out of their way to close rank in their bid to disrupt and sabotage the business operations of these bookmakers.

Anyone who still believes that MOD saved SA Racing by providing R100m post-commencement finance to Phumelela (John Evans - a BRP that was hand picked by Riley and Savage) - clearly lacks the understanding of the priority and ranking of creditor claims in Business Rescue and the fact that R100m was never at risk as MOD stood first in the queue to be paid.

This MOD bunch (under Savage and crew) know one thing only when it comes to engaging and negotiating with any counterparty in the industry that they consider a threat - Its a Mexican standoff and if you don't do it our way, its the highway.

HWB have stated publicly in response to the emergence of 4Q (in comparison to Phumelela) - "we need to be afraid very afraid because it is quite clear that it is a different leopard with the same spots and we are going back right to where we started"

And the modus operandi of 4Q ever since reaffirms the above sentiments of HWB. I'd go further and say that 4Q have the same DNA as Phumelela - the only difference is that Phumelela were not clueless.

Well done to HWB in securing the TV deal - you have dodged the Russian roulette bullet of 4Q, albeit from a toy revolver.

Saint T - could you reference the HWB leopard quote please. I would like to read the background into this.

I think that its fair to say 4Racing have displayed their incapability of turning racing around and we are saddled with another crowd who dont know the basics and the end is inevitable.

I fully agree with your comment and almost every person in the industry will also agree with you THAT 4Q HAS DEMONSTRATED THEIR INCAPABILITY OF TURNING RACING AROUND.

The fundamental problem with 4Q is that nobody in their camp fully understood the business of Phumelela / Horseracing. Hence their approach from Day 1 was doomed and it is evident for all to see. They clearly lack the technical, financial and operational skills and expertise. Hence you have not seen a strategy or a formidable business plan from 4Q. It is beyond the skills set, understanding or capability of Savage, de Kock and Riley to do so and the mess that Horseracing is in is attributable to these masterminds.

4Q submitted a financial model to GGB (in their license application) which depicted a picture that they would generate profits of R100m in year 1. I have heard from reliable sources that 4Q is on track to report a loss of R200m in year 1. So how did these geniuses get it so wrong with their projections? How do they account for R300m swing into a hole?

OTA - see the attachment from which the quote was extracted. More importantly, HWB knew that 4Q would behave like bullies and so it unfolded in relation to the pictures from Turffontein and beyond (4Q's failed attempts at a game of chicken with GC's regarding the broadcast of KZN racing on C240)

Thank you Saint T. That made for interesting reading and although difficult to follow at all times due to the many missed words, its still quite clear that Hollywood were fully expecting the moves 4Q pulled.

Did those fools learn anything from the Phumelela debacle? They richly deserve the screwing over they are receiving in the way of tote turnovers.

At the very start of this debacle evidence of all the schlentering was sent to John Evans and he was told that there was much more information that could be given to him,the result was that a certain person in management was never contacted and John Evans did nothing with the evidence that was given to him.
