Road or Air?

Good morning all and time to get a post out before the power goes off 😎
As far as my last post “take it easy” building up to and after my official 70th year on the planet ? This did not happen and it was a rather long but excellent time had by all.
I have always said if you have something to look forward to in life, things can only get better and next few weeks are no exception.
I am putting aside the election on Monday as I can’t see a positive outcome as the ANC will continue to lie about the changes they intend making but after 27 years can their supporters really believe them ?
Racing and the Tote continues to be a concern and unless change happens soon, we will continue on the downward spiral and at some stage the bubble has to burst.
However on happier notes we have to look forward to Jebel Ali at 11.45 this morning where our own Ali will be making his first call.🏇🏻👓
We have great racing from Turffontien on Sat with a few hottie bankers.
Winter Fair, Big Burn, Desert Miracle should give us a nice treble.
The Melbourne Cup on Tuesday morning where I did suggest you take the 18/10 Incentivise, which I am sure you can’t better and we will establish if the Aussies have a new superstar?
Humble Tune runs again on Tuesday, weather and power cuts permitting.
He really is a tough big lad but keeps breaking free from the grooms jumping the fence and heading for the N1.
It’s another competitive race but forecast betting at around 10/1 he is worth another ew to follow up on his last win. Good draw, good jockey and correct distance.
On another positive note, if we eventually get some racing changes, the Clubhouse at Randjies is a potential winner for some great fun race days with superb facilities. Where is Debbie these days? I want a big picnic spot and the fun bus is on standby.
Getting back to the topic heading “road or air”.
We are looking forward to going down to KZN for December.
It’s normal to drive .
Drive: the new manager at the pub was stopped at a roadblock and was taken to the caravan for outstanding fines which were payable immediately or Jail 🤬
If one considers we have some real criminals in the system who have stolen billions, and are still living the life of luxury and the authorities are out to extract money from normal citizens.
In addition, toll roads, petrol, protesters blocking roads, pot holes, road blocks, stay over etc.
Vs
Flights : have a friend to drop us of at airport, departure lounge, not the one to heaven but the one with free drinks, quick flight, daughter pickup in Durban and transport available for us in Kloof.
It’s 1/20 for Air and 12/1 for road.
When I was considering these options, I found myself in a wee Afrikaans pub where they show music videos on a massive screen.
My knowledge of music is vast but stopped after the 60s and 70s I am hoping to confirm the Fleetwood Mac tribute for New Years Eve. the song below has really got me in the mood.
Good Punting and may your God be with you.

With Covid and exchange rate Chicken it’s probably a no/go forever but my ashes were to be put at Powderhall dog stadium, it’s now a block of flats. 😢

Long weather forecast says snow expected from end of November right through to March on most days so going to Durban sounds the right option.
