13 October 2021, he failed to ensure that this gelding carried the correct weight during the running of the race, by weighing in at more than 0.5kg below the weight at which he was declared out at. This resulted in GUY FOX, which crossed the finishing line first, being disqualified following an objection by the Clerk of Scales being upheld.

HE WAS .5 KG overweight
Can't understand the disqualification for being overweight
Poor owners 😢

Sorry reading above again was he overweight or underweight?

I have not read all the detail above but weighing in under weight is a serious subject.

Eg the weight 4 kilos fell out of saddle during a race gives the runner a big advantage.
Sure it was Flaming Gun with Willie Ace disqualification for losing weight.
Racing was stopped due to punter protest David Safi will remember.

It is extremely important to have the correct facts ie was it intentional??

Ps Flaming Gun was a money on shot to make it worse

What about Geroudis putting overweight in the July...over 1kg overweight in the biggest race of the year,The July....beaten less than 2 lengths over 2200m and somehow from the scale to the weigh-out gains +1kg and receives 10k fine.....is this really a correct decision unless it is proven he deliberately threw away a weight or a piece of equipment then if that was proven 1 month is too little as that should be a life ban if you intentionally stop a horse using the technical disqualification for weighing in under the allowance...if smells and tastes wrong

Underweight...below the weight carded...over would be above the weight carded

My understanding is that he weighed in .6kg underweight, in other words 100grams over the allowed .5kg which is to compensate for sweating etc.

People that work in a factory or a company get dismissed for negligence. Punters don't get refunded for jockeys negligence. Their hard earned cash is lost. Eventually they walk away from this sport. The Stipes need to clean up this sport, alternately punters will move away from this sport and turnovers will dwindle.

That's already happened Tero the pools are there for all to see but don't worry super six racing will bring them all back and way more.

Without all the information about how, we cannot assume negligence or malice...

but the application is also very important - if 100g under can cause a horse to win then surely 1kg over can cause a horse to lose..
stipes report last week
b) B Fayd’Herbe (WOLF MAN) rode +1kg (59.8kgs) The stewards, in consultation with Trainer SJ Snaith, allowed this overweight in terms of Rule 59.9

and a few days earlier
c) Jockey B Fayd’Herbe was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on WOLF MAN (Race 5) and SUPER DUKE (Race 6) resulting in a change of rider in Race 6. Jockey B Fayd’Herbe signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000,00
c) Jockey B Fayd’Herbe was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on ZIPPY OVER. Jockey B Fayd’Herbe signed an admission of guilt and was given the penalty of a warning.
d) Jockey A Domeyer was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on CRACKLIN’ ROSE and GRAND PRINCESS (Race 8). Jockey A Domeyer signed an admission of guilt and was given the penalty of a warning.

e) Jockey R Fourie was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on HILARITY (GB). Jockey R Fourie signed an admission of guilt and was given the penalty of a warning.

so jockeys can weight out overweight and get warnings and small fines but in this case (if we take the 100g as the underweight ) he gets a month? If he ran last would they still have given him a month? If there is more to the story then the Stipes should present ALL the facts - Funny Garth Puller did not think he stopped the horse purposely (unless he was part of this FIX) as he put him up next start - very strange
