Better for the tote if there is some pool from an earlier start than zero pool from a later start resulting in abandoned races...
Better for the punter to have a full card with a proper payout than a watered down payout from an abandoned meeting...

Wishing fellow Clanners health and safety...

Better for the trainers to have horses run when planned...

Better for the owners to have horse run for some stakes than pay bills to get the horse to the course only to return to the stables..

In summary, just better to have an increased possibiility of a full card of races...

It was first time on track and were hoping for a decent run and expected it to be running on.

More a pleasant surprise for the stable.

I always ignore comments on first timers especially if they are at long odds. The granddam of this horse is multiple graded winner and Met second Icy Air. From the family of Russet Air, Grade 1 winner.

I love delving into pedigrees!

Later today there is Zeus. The dam, Lil Bacio has produced Grade 1 winner Out Of Your League and Paybackthemoney so far. I think she's going to get a very good one soon. If you go deeper into her pedigree, her lineage is from the original Party Time. Although before my time Party Time was trained by the great Terrance Millard and was a multiple Grade 1 winner.
