Good morning to the CLAN from another superb day in the Pretoria.
The racing today is from Arlington and Greyille tonight.
From the UK we have Goodwood and Redcar on the flat and a jump meeting from up North in Perth, in addition a night meeting from Kempton.

I will be checking the form a bit later, after the coals and firelighters are in place and hope you all have a good day with the family or your bookies?

Please post your selections thoughts and weather conditions here.

good punting!

Hope you are having a good braai

I only fancy a double at Goodwood, Dettori in the opener with Roman Glory and Headline Act should win.

At Redcar for the Unt supporters Master Rooney

good punting

Handicap movers

William Hill have halved the odds of Dazed And Amazed for the 6f handicap (3.45), slashing his odds from 25-1 to only 12-1. Richard Hughes' mount is plummeting in the handicap and is now off just 72, having been fourth off 90 earlier this year.

Hills have also seen money in the 1m3f handicap (4.55) for Greylami, who is now 13-2 from 15-2. In the same race Henry Cecil's Tomintoul Flyer (mostly 5-1 now) has also proved a popular alternative to the Luca Cumani hotpot Thumbs Up.

Hills' other mover is the lightning quick top-weight Blessed Place in the 5f handicap (6.0). He is 5-1 from 7-1 to follow up last week's win at Sandown, where he battled back after being headed. Goodwood should suit play to his strengths, although he has only ever run here once.

Glory, glory days

Frankie Dettori's mount Roman Glory is all the rage for the opening maiden (2.0) and is now as short as even money in a place, though 5-4 is widely available still. Brian Meehan's Racing Post Trophy and Derby entry was an eye-catcher when getting no run in a decent maiden at Sandown first time out, and the stable's juveniles are going well right now.

Non runners

The fillies Efficiency (going) and Louise Bonne (self certificate) are out of the second division of the 7f maiden (2.35), while Penang Princess (self certificate, lame) is out of the 1m1f maiden (3.10).

The 6f handicap is now down to 16 runners following the withdrawal of Requisite (vet's certificate, lame), Dickie Le Davoir (going) and Punching (also going), and if there are any more non runners it will only be horses in the first three for each-way bets with most bookmakers.

Each-way terms have already been affected by a withdrawal from the 5f handicap (6.0), the absence of Diminuto (going) reducing the field to 15.

Going update

Clerk of the course Seamus Buckley predicts "good fast Flat racing ground, with no jar" this afternoon at Goodwood, where there has been no measurable rain for two weeks.

He said: "The ground has dried out considerably, and while there's plenty of moisture deep down, the top has dried out quickly. The Turftrax going stick reading is 9.8, which confirms it is good to firm."

Buckley says that the track is laid out as it was for the last meeting, which means 15 yards are added to races on the round course.
