WC Schedule March
3 years 3 months ago
Sure I'm missing something but no matter where I've looked I see 4 x WC meetings scheduled for March - all Durbanville and all midweek.
Inconceivable that there will be an entire month of no weekend fixtures, so if anybody ( Peter D maybe ) does have an alternate schedule, please let us know.

Ice I don't find that inconceivable at all.
Operators need churn. You don't get churn when your average field size is 7 or 8 or whatever number it was. The Highveld go into their Autumn season and will consistently provide better numbers than the Western Cape are capable of. I think its a solid well thought out strategy. Half of CT horses will be on their way to KZN soon.
This is the problem when you have all your eggs in a few trainers baskets.

Cheers OTA
Talking about well thought out strategies, I wonder what's going on in the background to ensure the resumption of live streams as well as historical race replays.
The fact that these have been completely inaccessible since the beginning of the month is another sombre reminder of what level of ' racing ' people the industry is currently relying on ....

The logic is to recognise that in March/April the major horses that campaigned during the summer season all resting before heading off to KZN for the winter season. Instead of trying to hold minor racemeetings on the weekend and clash with the Gauteng autumn big days, rather have standalone midweek meetings in CT. As far as possible try to get back to a regular Wednesday meeting which is standalone to encourage tote turnover.
The off season feature races will still be on weekends.

Thanks Peter
I saw the nominations for Derby Day next Saturday - pretty diabolical numbers.
